What sort of exciting yet still somehow mundane things does everyone have planned for the weekend? I get to try and figure out why the heat in my room still isn't working and try to fix it. I'm getting tired of waking up to 55 degrees. Also on Saturday one of my friends finally turns 21, so we will be having our obligatory bar crawl til blackout drunk party.

I'm kind of looking forward to getting out into the woods tomorrow on my snowshoes. I've been having fun following animal tracks in the snow this winter. With all the new snow they'll be more scarce but should lead to interesting little discoveries.

Oh, and there's still shoveling to get done.

My sister in NE almost died from Salmonella poisoning she picked up while missionarying in Thailand last week. She had to be emergency shipped back to the states. After 4 days in the hospital she's finally going home today....I need to get something in the mail to her. Valentines day is nearing so we all need to think about our honeys. What this means is I'll have to do some little bit of shopping this weekend..bleh.

The flu, or some sort of sinus/respiratory infection is spreading like wildfire through work. Started about Monday with one or two of the office workers getting sick, then about half the office got it. Yesterday I was starting to feel sick and ended up going home at 3pm. Today I just called in. My boss called in yesterday, and again today. So they are running the shop without any electrical engineering support. Hopefully the other electricians will be able to handle any problems that happen, everything had been running pretty smoothly the last few days.

They're calling for snow/rain/sleet/ice again tonight. So I imagine I'll be sitting at home all weekend.

Which suits me just fine.

She is being honest, what did you interpret missionarying as?

Lol. She's kind of a prude. Honestly though, calling it missionary work is a bit of a stretch. Each year there is a big missionary conference somewhere in the orient that a bunch of the US missionaries attend. My sis's church is responsible for providing daycare for the kids of some of the real missionaries while they go to the conference. I had originally thought she was taking care of little indigent oriental kids. When I saw the pics of the middle-class american kids she was babysitting - and got an explanation, I stopped donating.

The Superbowl this year is kind of "meh"

I don't feel strongly one way or another about either team.

You'll be needing a QB first. And a coach. And an owner who's not retarded.

Nor I. I've got a slight fondness for the Packers, as Rodgers was my fantasy football QB this year, and faithfully led me to the league title. I'm also not particularly pleased with the Steelers...I think they should have unceremoniously cut Roethlisberger after the whole rape fiasco.

Though the show generally sucks, I liked the Onion Sportsdome's piece on him: "In Super Bowl news: Ben Roethlisberger only needs one more win to be forgiven for rape! In a related story, Michael Vick still dog murderer after loss to Packers."

I do think it'll be a good game though, and I'm looking forward to it, even if I'm not much invested in the outcome. On paper, it's tough to pick a clear winner. I think I'll take the Pack by the smallest of margins.

Ugly,

We didn't have a qb all last year and were only a couple of games away from the playoffs.

And without one, that's where you'll remain.
