Chicago and the surrounding area are expected to get anywhere from 18-24 inches of snow over the next 48 hours, starting this afternoon. On top of that, winds are expected to be a continuous 30-40mph with gusts up to 50-60mph, and there's a flood warning along the lake front.

Luckily, this means that I get to "work from home" today. Smiley: smile

I wish they would let us work from home today, but 35 and cloudy ain't gonna cut it.

The only thing it's going to bring here is high winds and rain. Unless they get the track wrong and then we might see quite a bit of snow. Those weather people have been known to be wrong before, ya know.

I just got off work a few hours ago... it poured rain all night long at just above freezing, then the temperature dropped, and everything froze... It took me an hour to get the inch thick ice off of my windshield, and another hour of driving 15mph on the frozen highway to get home.

I'm blaming you for this storm. You shouldn't have tempted fate by wise-cracking about VA getting more snow than IL in recent years.

When will you learn?!

I'm already inside it, so why would I have to marry it?

Are you implying that Demea is lying about his weather?

I love the snow and cold weather.

You know, while inside next to a fireplace wrapped in a thick blanket and eating soup while looking out the window and laughing at all the people having to be outside. Like the guy I order Chinese from just to **** them off. But yeah, snow and cold.

I don't mind the snow and cold. I'd feel like a world-class pussy if I didn't go out and battle the elements and prove my domination over nature by removing a foot of snow from my driveway at least a couple times a year.

I've already gotten about five inches of snow here, which I just shoveled off the front ramp and my car. Today I'm working from home, taking my Dell Certifications. Tomorrow I'm supposed to be back out on the road but that is highly questionable, since this storm is supposed to persist overnight.

Plus, it's the only exercise you get in the winter time.

Gotta keep those girly man arms toned up.

That ain't a Snowpocalypse. THIS is a Snowpocalypse.

And it sucked. Oh, yes it sucked a lot. Complete neighborhoods vanished into snow drifts, never to be seen again!!! (Well, maybe not but entire houses were buried and the occupants had to dig themselves out from the inside.)

You know, there is an upside to bad weather.

Working from home today, not due to any weather conditions but because of catapult vomiting. That's the step above projectile vomiting.

I hear my wind chimes going nuts out there. But no snow and very little rain. It's about 52 degrees now (6:30 a.m.) and the temp is supposed to drop throughout the day. Yay!
