Right, so like i said, it's got nothing to do with good governance and everything to do with absolute power. Good of you to come around and accept that.

Until we, as a society, are forced to be responsible for our actions we'll never be able to break free from this welfare mentality that kills the american spirit of freedom and independence.
Isn't aborting an unwanted fetus taking responsibility for ones actions?

No

I may not be the perfect christian but that's a far cry from endorsing murdering the essence of life.

Please remember that roe v wade, or more generally the US government is secular....your christianity or lack of it has absolutely no bearing on the argument.

Your sperm is life essence but I bet you let it die on your keyboard daily.

4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Varus's quote makes no sense to me. God knows fetuses will be aborted, so unlike Jeremiah, they obviously will not be set apart or become prophets. God "knowing" someone before they're boring is restating the obvious, if you truly belief God is omniscient. It doesn't say "Sperm is peoples!" but that's just as valid an interpretation (if not more so, since He'd know sperm before it's in the womb); nor does it say anything about fetuses; it just reiterates that God knows everything and Jeremiah was blessed.

A very poor theological argument.

I like Joph's better.

So... single women having unwanted children is going to help us break free from a "welfare mentality?"

That's just idiotic.

Sorry Varus, but Roe v Wade won't be overturned. The Right to Life organizations, and the GOP, make far too much money off simple minded yokels like you by being "against abortion". They aren't about to turn that tap off.

Less theologically, once the Chinese conquer us, I'm gonna need somethin' to eat with my rice.

Ok. Now, explain to me how single women having unwanted kids helps keep people off of welfare.

MORE ABORTIONS MEANS LESS SOLDIERS! HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST WE KILL THEM BEFORE WE CAN SEND THEM OFF TO DIE?!

So Varus what is your opinion on a rape victim who gets prego. Does she have to carry that baby for 9 months. You sir are an idiot. I don't believe in Abortions for people who accidentally conceive, if you aren't using proper protection then you should be responsible, but rape victims should really have a choice of whether or not they want to carry a reminder of their rape for 9 months or not.
