Not to mention Jeremiah 1 4-5.
More like
Lamentations 4:10, am I right?
Quote:
4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.â€
Varus's quote makes no sense to me. God knows fetuses will be aborted, so unlike Jeremiah, they obviously will not be set apart or become prophets. God "knowing" someone before they're boring is restating the obvious, if you truly belief God is omniscient. It doesn't say "Sperm is peoples!" but that's just as valid an interpretation (if not more so, since He'd know sperm before it's in the womb); nor does it say anything about fetuses; it just reiterates that God knows everything and Jeremiah was blessed.
A very poor theological argument.
I like Joph's better.

Much more on-topic, and ties in well with Catholicism being a cannibalistic religion.
