After years of pandering to the homosexuals of canada, and giving them what they want. Tth Gay agenda has finally taken its first attack on our society.

The panel noted that "Money for Nothing" would be acceptable for broadcast if suitably edited.


Not only have they stolen one of my favorite songs to work to. They have also stolen a word I use daily. Now how am I supposed to identify a bundle of sticks with one easy word, while listening to the sweet sounds of Money for Nothing. It is appalling.

You could try buying the album. Revolutionary idea.

I don't see the big deal. Most derogatory/curse words are filtered out on Canadian radio stations already. If we're going to do it, then it probably should involve this one as well. If you want to take issue with filtering at all, then you've got an argument.

I do not believe filtering should be done at all tbh. In any way,shape,or form. That includes editing movies on TV for content. Its a joke. As for buying an album, why waste money when I can download it for free on the internet. I haven't bought music in 10 years, I doubt this will make start now.

The main point was that it doesn't matter what can or can't be aired on radio, as you have other ways to access it. Nice to see you supporting the people who provide you with that entertainment though.

Back in the day, I'd hear Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" on the radio. Then I started noticing edits.

First it was stuff like "But Candy never lost her head, even when she was [...dead air...]..."
Then it was "And the [...dead air...] girls go 'doot doot...'"
Then they cut out the entire verse about Candy and the line about the colored girls, going straight into the doots.

Then I heard it the other day and it was all restored. Go figure. And I know different stations can play different edits (at least here... in AMERICA!) but it was still a little jarring to hear it in one piece again.

It's funny. Making a rather sweeping, completely subjective statement, I'd say that here (in AMERICA!) there is far more censorship on the whole. I mean, you can't even say "***" on TV. At least not here in the South.

Whenever I hear "Brown Eyed Girl" these days it seems like they censor or repeat a line instead of saying "Making love in the green grass." Replace it with another "Hoppin' and a-skippin'... behind the stadium."

Always made me laugh. Oh noes, teh sex! Smiley: lol

You know I just can't agree with you. At all. Where are mom and pop, or the caregiver they should be watching their young children, there by controlling the content that they view/hear/read. There is no reason why they can't is there?

As for this particular case and many others like it. Turn the damn channel if you don't like whats on. Many people do like the entertainment provided, if you are so hurt/enraged by it, change it. Why should I have to deal with censor of songs and tv shows/movies I enjoy because Peter Puffer said it hurt his feelings.

Let me tell you a story about Brokeback mountain. I didn't see it. Heard it was a movie about ******, I don't want to see that ****. So I didn't, end of story. Let me tell you another about the passion of the christ, I heard it was a religious movie, I don't care for that ****, so I didn't see it. End of story.

Man invented a wonderful device its called the tuner nob. It allows you to change radio stations with ease, we even expanded on this in vehicles to the point you can do it right from your steering wheel, or in the home with a remote control. If this guy had an issue he could simply change the god damn channel when the song came on.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's your constitutional right to watch uncensored tv.

Media is not censored by the government. It's censored by the industry itself. They're completely within their rights to do this. If you don't like the product you can boycott it.

You're completely entitled to your view. But parents can't be there the entire time their kid is in front of a TV or while the radio is on. I mean, unless you think it's a good idea to turn the tv/radio up really loud so you can hear it and know to run to it and shut it off/change stations whilst you're in the middle of taking a shit, in another room folding laundry, doing dishes or any other common household activity.

You don't want it censored, fine. I'm not going to fight you on getting censorship removed. It's not that big of a deal to me, but given a preference, I have no issue with censorship between say, 6am-8pm.

Really, I think the whole problem for you is that you either need to pay for things now and stop mooching off of other people's work, or that you need to put in an effort to illegally obtain your things for free.
