In some thirty odd years of driving in northern winters, yesterday coming home from work was the most harrowing drive of my life.
I slid sideways down the big hill, inched, tires spinning furiously, up the other side. I gunned it through the snow-clogged intersections just hoping no one got in my way. The visibility at the on/off ramps to the highway was completely obliterated. I was pretty literally driving blind and only staying on course by the rumble-strip on the shoulder. I seemed to be the only car venturing forth on the interstate.
The last mile of my commute is typically the toughest as it's the most rural - but I just kept my forward momentum going, and FINALLY found my driveway. It was plowed. I made it all the way up it and into my garage. :D
My little beany car successfully went where even SUV's feared to tread.
