Saw this one on Saturday and Bobdamn if that isn't a great movie. Jeff Bridges was excellent, and the new little actress that plays Mattie is outstanding. Go, go and see it. Anyone else seen it?

Seems like there are a few movies out there to check out. Anyone see Black Swan? I Love You Philip Morris? Tell me about them!

The King's Speech was absolutely phenomenal. Great cast and a great movie.

Not the kind of movie genre I like, but I really enjoyed it.

If you weren't already planning on it, avoid Season of the Witch at all costs.

A fella called Barry Pepper and he does a swell job. I honestly can't complain about any of the casting. It was really well done.

Barry Pepper is the fellow who played the American sniper in Saving Private Ryan and Roger Maris in *61, among other things. He's a pretty steady actor.

I'd like to go see True Grit since I am a huge fan of, in order, Matt Damon, the Coen Bros., and Jeff Bridges.

Still supposed to see Black Swan. We keep having to put it off. I'll report back after we catch it, probably this coming weekend.

Personally, I'd rather see True Grit. Love me some westerns.

Very good. I saw the previews for this when I saw The Social Network, and I was pumped. It really looked good. Glad to hear it didn't disappoint.

I'd heard True Grit was a great movie as long as you didn't try to compare it to the original, nor to compare Bridges to John Wayne.

I want to see the other Jeff Bridges movie - TRON: Legacy. I thought the original fun, and this one looks even more fantastically futuristic....and it's in 3-D!

Edit - I finally got around to watching Blind Side this last weekend. Omgosh, I blubbered through nearly the whole thing. We also watched Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. There was some fun in watching it - Grover the Satyr was a good character. Mostly it was pretty obvious and cliche'.

I cannot for the life of me understand what all the fuss was about with the Blind Side.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it was a bad movie. But I didn't see anything that even remotely distinguished it from any of the other 8 billion feel-good sports movies out there. Ditto for Sandra Bullock's performance, which struck me as completely standard-fare for the genre.

I don't get the hype. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.

Fill yer hand, you sonofabitch.

Seriously, though, I may have to go check this one out...

Saw TRON: Legacy last week and that was awesome.

I didn't necessarily think it was a stupendous movie. It was good. The little brother thing was obnoxious and over-the-top, though I liked the high school coach. The story was very touching however for a pre-menopausal, pre-menstrual hormones-gone-wild woman. I couldn't stop crying. My husband laughed and laughed at me.

No worries. It's certainly a nice story. I was just shocked at all the Oscar buzz that it was receiving.

I've seen both the original and the remake of True Grit (remake first admittedly) and I have to say I liked Bridges' rendition of Rooster Cogburn better.

Saw Tron Legacy and it was pretty good. Not oscar worthy but definitely enjoyable.

Typically speaking, you're going to prefer the first one you see over the second one you see. That being said, while I'm a huge Duke fan, from what I've seen of the previews, I fully expect to enjoy Bridges more.

Yha that's why I put (remake first admittedly) in there.

The Wayne version just seemed more uppity to me. I liked the layed back old codger Bridges played better. The courtroom scene was excellent imo for displaying this. "I usually go backwards when I'm backing up".

True Grit was awesome. And yes, I had seen the original. Gotta say I liked Bridges' performance better, and also the little gal. The original Mattie got on my nerves, I couldn't stand her for some reason.
