RIP Gunnery Officer Robert Feller. Follow

A former navy officer, who enlisted on Dec. 8 1941 died yesterday. Another one of our WW@ vets. He also happened to win 266 games for the Cleveland Indians as a pitcher.

Oh...well, when you put it that way, yes I know who Bob Feller is.

I think winning that many games for the Scalped Ones was a bigger accomplishment than surviving the war. RIP ball-thrower.

For a brief period Feller was assigned to the U.S. Sloop Constellation the historic ship on which I now give tours. So that made his Navy Service more important to me.

Shadowstrike, sometimes I post in Elenese as well as Elne.
