I think that might just be fever.

Or the daily grind of the gnawing realization that she's a beard.

I hated lugging that damn car seat around. It wasnt until my third kid though, that I found out about and fell in love with the Moby. As they grow older you can change positions for it too. I still throw Soren into it as a hip carrier when we go out for long errands. I've heard the K'Tan is just as good and easier for noobs to use

I'm totally getting one of those for the next kid. It's also amazing when I go baby shopping now (my sister is due this week) to see all the stuff that's come out in just the past five years.

I like the Moby when I'm home and need to knock him out-he goes right to sleep and snores like an old man, and I can do laundry or tool around the house (and Joph can help me put the baby in it, I can't seem to manage it alone). Otherwise, it's the dead of winter and I sweat like a hog and so does he unless we're both in very light t-shirts. I'll have to try it out in the spring when I take him out to the zoo or something.

He no longer asks for everything, he just wants to push the cart into everything[/sm]

My first child, around age 1-2 years, used to be perfectly happy to stand between my legs and push the cart all over the store. Put her in the cart and she'd fuss.

Actually, just pause the cart and she'd fuss. Thus all items which made it into the cart were about waist to shoulder height and along a path free from other shoppers.

Get to the checkout lane and fussing would ensue. I'd let her hold the "credit card" and hand it over to the nice person and that seemed to placate her.

She is almost five now and her Achilles heel is candy. Generally, she won't ask for anything else but her desire for candy is very strong. For example, we visit Disneyland. The evil corporate villeins have placed toy stores at the end of many of the rides. But my kids make their saving throw every time. Except that they all stock a bit of candy near the counter. Alas. They do get candy in the end, on the car trip home (I guess we visit maybe six times a year) and now they are beginning to understand that and accept it.

I had a Moby that was really light weight fabric, almost see through, that was perfect for the summer months. I'll see if I can find it. A friend was actually kind enough to lend it to me, but once I gave it back I went to Joanne Fabrics and found the same kind of fabric and made myself a fauxby. If you're crafty at all or can sew, I can send you the length/width and you can make one for a lot cheaper of any fabric you want.

Seriously though, I am kicking myself for not knowing about the damn Moby before kids 3. That thing was awesome. I could run full out to grab Ashe on the playground, and Soren was snug and comfy the whole time.

What I need now is some sort of child-safe paci glue that I can use to stick this thing onto his face. Every time it pops out he wakes himself up.

The miracle blanket was the only thing that would get my kids to sleep.

Charmaine was really sensitive to temperature changes so we always had to warm up her baby blankets for a few minutes in the dryer and then swaddle her so she'd go to sleep.

Then her colic came with a vengeance. I wish that on no one.
