Uh. Yeah. Your point is childishly simplistic Joph. You're saying "It's ok for me to do this because Johny did it and no one busted him". Do I need to draw this in crayon for you to see why it's an infantile point?

He doesn't think too much of me, and I recognize the distinction between hypocrisy and having the things you say taken in contexts and to extremes that you didn't intend. You apparently don't. I imagine your reply will not only fail to sway him, but will probably only deepen his disdain for you.

Edit: I wish I could use the popcorn smiley.

The day your entire political philosophy doesn't essentially hinge upon "we did this yesterday, so it's ok to do this+1 today", I'll stop pointing this out.

It's not. It's funny that you think it is though because that shows just how little you understood.

I don't have anything in particular against you aside from us disagreeing in a thread and me dragging it out for my own amusement.

Don't worry. Admitting he's wrong, much less publically wrong, has never been Gbaji's strong suit. He'll continue insisting that he's right, we all know he's right (but won't admit it) and use ever more amusing logical contortions to justify digging his hole deeper. Eventually, he'll go off on a side tangent no one cares about about how this proves that conservatives, they all politicize like this but them liberals, they all politicizing like this...

Getting simple things wrong and running with them is just what he does. Bird's gotta fly, fish gotta swim.

What extremes did I take Joph's statement to? I didn't say *anything* specific. I simply commented on the philosophy behind his argument. And my comment was absolutely correct.

He is making a slippery slope argument. He is exactly arguing that since the founding fathers did X, that it's ok for us to do X+1 today (creation of federally funded museums leads to funding of art which some taxpayers find offensive). I'm not taking his position to any extreme at all.

Can you show me where I misrepresented what Joph has been saying?

Of course I do. But in this case, I didn't do what you're claiming.

I'm not trying to sway him. I'm presenting an alternative voice and viewpoint on the issue, so that others might just see how incredibly flawed Joph's argument is. In the absence of someone like me pointing out such massive flaws, some people might just think his argument has merit.

@Joph; Believe me, I know all that. I just saw an opportunity to inject myself in the fun. I only come to zam anymore to be amused.

But I guess where gbaji and I are similar is that we apparently enjoy lengthy arguments. I just don't enjoy them nearly as much as he does (especially when they're with him).

Oh, so it's an "alternative" view that you happen to think is right, and you've given up on ol' Dr. Evil there, but just want to minimize the collateral damage. God forbid there should be civilian casualties in this battle between good and evil.

Unfortunately I think you'll succeed in that there are people dumb enough to buy your tripe.

My, you're simplistic. It's endearing.

No, not really. Twiz was making a tongue-in-cheek snark about the whole "The Founding Fathers did it!" meme. Then again, so was I when I took Moe's "Oh, if only we could be like those Founding Fathers who were ever so wise!" bit and turned it around with those sticky little fact thingies.

Pretty much this.

Bob damn, gbaji, you're thick.
