So you're going to submit to the search while wearing underwear passive-aggressively whining about the search?

Huh. Well, it's your underwear buying dollar I guess.

I'm actually looking forward to my train ride tomorrow, but mostly because I have a seat reserved on the way back. The rest of it will be awful - I've spent enough trips to Gatwick standing (the only one where I got a seat the whole way was when I flew back in when airspace had just reopened after that volcano eruption), and back in Germany it's usually not much better if you don't want to pay 80 euros or more for a one-way trip somewhere within the country.
Trains in the Netherlands are okay, though.

As for airport security, I was held up in August at Hamburg airport because they thought my mouse weights were bullets. And it was a bit ridiculous that I had to get every piece of electronics checked separately. I mean, really, I don't mind taking my shoes off (that's why I wear ones I can take off easily on flights), or having all the beer in my hold luggage. I'm used to that. Having to unpack my whole backpack because they have a problem with electronics is actually inconvenient.

I still usually fly if I have things to do on the continent, as it's less than a third of the price of reasonably fast trains, and still much less than the slow ones.
