Apparently it's happening at some place between here and Basingstoke.

That makes us important, right?

She's a cutie. Old William is marrying out of his class.

I would not want my dead mother-in-law's engagement ring. What if you divorce after 10 years? Your ex is bound to want his dead mother's ring back.

Someone needs to make him buzz/shave is hair off, or wear a toupee. What he's got on top of his head is an embarrassment.

If you're thinking divorce before the wedding, maybe you should just call it off right there.

Oh sure, I wouldn't want my dead MIL's ring. But I think I could learn to like that one.

Yes. If you think they're after you for your money, do you think you should be marrying them?

No one plans to get divorced, of course, but it doesn't hurt to be realistic. I would never tattoo my husband's name on my body because I think that's silly and if we ever got a divorce, I wouldn't want his name tattooed on me. I see what Ari said as being in the same vein.

Of course, I also think that if I ended up getting a divorce, I'd have no problem giving that ring back. I certainly wouldn't want it around reminding me of a marriage gone bad.

When I was dating the heir of Princess Xenia von Preussen (mind you, she had lost the right to the throne that didn't exist anymore decades before that), I had the occasional day-dream of getting married wearing the Mäander-Tiara. Because that would make me feel like a princess, not because it was a pretty accessory, as it wasn't.
I didn't even want to marry him, I was quite aware that I didn't want to stay in that relationship forever.

But dreaming is fun, and wearing royal heirlooms to the wedding probably feels pretty awesome.

Well, it's not like they have any skills beyond talking about royals, do you want them to starve!?!?

I don't know, that tiara has a certain traditional Eastern European/Art Deco something about it. Not my favourite ever tiara, but it isn't ugly. I bet it would look great on a blue-eyed blonde with Slavic features.

I can actually see its appeal more now than I could 4 years ago, but still, if I could choose any accessory based on looks alone, I wouldn't go for it.
#25 Nov 22 2010 at 12:46 PM Rating: Good
If I could get way with it, without looking like an *******, I would wear a tiara every day.

Fuck yeah! But not that one. Seriously. There's far prettier tiaras out there. There's probably even prettier ones out there for less than £100.
