Yeah, not so much. What else you got?

Aeth, so what you're saying that the only reason you have any sense of self worth is that you feel you have ἀρετή of sorts.

You're arguing my case for me here.

I'm not even sure what the hell your case is anyway.
All I'm saying is that if you want an Opeth tattoo just get an Opeth tattoo and don't ruin it with weird *** leetspeak.

All I'm saying is your accusations that I want an Opeth tattoo are ridiculous. Getting an Opeth tattoo would be pointless, especially for me.

And don't call the language that is pretty much responsible for inventing Western philosophy and **** leetspeak.

I'm not calling Greek leetspeak, I'm calling you using Greek letters to write Opeth leetspeak. Smiley: tongue

I don't really get tattoos. They cost a lot of money, and seem like something that becomes unremarkable pretty quickly. Kind of like jewelry.

Yeah, but you'll never worry about the vet fishing for your tattoo.

This is why you just wear coins with holes for jewellery. Coins that are worth approximately $0.90.

And Aeth, are you telling me that Opeth has been around for centuries?

I've got five of them in total (all coverable in business casual/professional dress by design). I get them for me because I like the art or the concept or what-have-you; I get them for me and -if someone else likes them- awesome, but others' opinions don't really phase me. It's far from a rebellious act in this day and age, and anyone getting them for that reason is silly.

I enjoy the sensation* of getting a tattoo as much as the final product. Oddly, it's almost like an addiction. Even just thinking about the sound of a tattoo gun makes me want more.

* I don't mean that in a sexual/erotic way; it's just enjoyable to me for some reason

You could probably get a tattoo gun and don't load it with ink, for a little at home massage therapy. It'd probably mess up your skin long term though if you used it much. Try an electrical massager, some of the more spendy versions have very hard settings. Or try some acupuncture sessions.

You can Google with Greek characters, you know.

ἀρετή = excellence/Virtue (roughly). The anglicized/transliterated version of the word would be Arete.

Pretty cool tat, Kal.

My girlfriend has a tattoo of a Hylian crest. It made her look better to me.

I've never found anything I wanted badly enough to make permanent. I'm not opposed to the idea, I just haven't found anything worth it.

This. When I bellydance I'll draw on myself with markers, but no matter how cool the drawing, I'm always glad I can wash it off at the end of the day.

I plan on getting the word "Temporary" tattooed on my wrist eventually. And not just for the silly irony-- really, what in life isn't Temporary?

I used to be more of a piercings person but I've started to retire them, starting to feel like most just look sorta tacky. Trying to get it in my head that I really want any tattoo I ever get so that I don't regret it later on.

Pet peeve: Tacky skull/dragon/chinese text/japanese text/etc. tattoo's because they "just look cool" rofl.
