It is now a scientifically verified fact that out of 237,322,980,123 tattoos currently in existence, 3 are cool, 29 are funny, 172 are a useful distraction from Amy Winehouse's face, and the rest all make their wearers look like educationally subnormal, socially crippled cUnts.

Off you pop. Discuss, flame, whatever.

I've seen tattoos that didn't make their bearer look any worse but never seen one that made its bearer look better.

If it's good enough for Charles Manson it's good enough for me.

I dated a girl a few years ago with a White Sox logo tattooed just above and to the right of her cunt. Every time I went down on her, I had to stare the thing right in the face.

And I'm a Cubs fan.

Is that when you became her designated hitter?

I got a tattoo - a couple months ago.

I need a new picture. This is just a cellphone pic while still at the studio. I didn't really like it at first. I'd wanted a compass rose, but had in mind something more mechanical looking and less leafy. It's grown on me now though. Still, when the colors start fading I might change them up some and put in some solid lines or something.

My daughter got one too - her's is nice. We went to the studio we did based on a recommendation for the guy that did hers. I let some nub do mine.

I've been planning my next. I've learned to take the time with your tattooer to get the design down pat.

Btw, this is one of the 3 cool ones.

Most serious girlfriend (now ex) was a straight-laced Christian girl who ended up liking tattoos. She has three - one is a g-clef with a cross in on her shoulder it to celebrate her love of religion and music; another is a star on her ankle that she got with her best girl-friend, to show they'll always be together; and the last was a French poem on her wrist, presumably to celebrate her lack of anything better to keep on her body forever.

I'm not a fan of body art. The ONLY thing I'd think about getting is my family crest, assuming I ever got in good enough shape to have it placed on my shoulder or arms.

Pretty much this. Er... what Joph said!

A pretty girl is pretty for reasons other than inked skin. I have on many occasions looked at a woman and thought "She's pretty. Too bad she has tattoos all over her otherwise beautiful skin". I have never in my life looked at someone and thought they'd be better looking or more attractive if only they had a tattoo.

I got my tattoo 12 years back. It's pretty popular at the Anime cons even now that it's faded a bunch.

In all seriousness though, I love tattoos.
If they weren't so damned expensive I'd be covered in ink, alas all I want are big pieces and I can't quite spend a few thousand euros on tattoos at the moment.
That said, I like most body modifications but stuff like this is taking it a bit too far for me.

WTF are they trying to accomplish there? Making her look as though she was attacked by a giant owl?

I have no tatts; have considered getting my son's name done but probably never will.

A customer I delivered to today was a hot little piece with an impressive tramp stamp. What's amusing was we were delivering a bed to replace the one she and her big fat boyfriend broke in half fucking. Hell, *I* would have wrecked a bedroom set hitting that ***.

I have 2 tattoos and plan one day to have one more I have had in my mind for years. I carried around the images I wanted for a long time before getting them done. I've had both now for over 10 years and love them as much as I did the day I had them inked. No regrets.

Tattoos are not the problem. It's idiots who choose tattoos without a lot of forethought and planning, just cause "they're cool" or the "in thing to get" at the time. Unfortunately, that represents about 99.9999% of people with ink done.Smiley: rolleyes

That or they're carving an image of bamboo into her skin.

No tats here. I thought briefly about getting a Snoopy on my ankle, but nah. It's just not my thing. I have no problem with people that have them, they're just not for me.

The cutest tattoo I've seen was a vine on a pretty girl's ear, up the outside of her outer ear. Very simple.

Maybe the most impressive I've seen personally was one scene inked over a man's entire back. His spine was the trunk of a huge tree, and that was just the background of it. He said it took about six years to finish. I asked if it was in his will to remove it and tan it. He laughed, and then looked disturbingly thoughtful.

Sounds like his kids are getting a mantelpiece in the will.

FTFY

ETA: I have no tattoos. Ray has 3 and one of them is my name. He wants me to get his name put on. If I ever do (never), it'll go on my ring finger under the wedding band.

Sick wanted my name tattooed on him and I told him absolutely no way in hell was he to do that. Names on people just look stupid. So instead he got a tattoo of Pi on his arm, and around that he got my name done in binary code so it doesnt look like a name.

It is a cool conversation starter
