Maybe if you count people on aspirin or tylenol, hah.
The other main statistic was 1/8 people simply aren't fit to drive. Do you believe that?

No, Y chromosomes aren't that plentiful. It's more like 1/2.
I feel as though you could use a course in fractions.
Or you don't understand genetics

Protip: I was implying women can't drive.
Yes, but 1/2 is greater than 1/8.
which is why I don't believe it is 1/8.
You said they "aren't that plentiful". Then you gave a larger number. Your first sentence means they are less plentiful than 1/8, which directly contradicts your second sentence.

Reading comprehension is as foreign to you as wit and the ability to entertain.

In other news, Four Loko was banned in MA yesterday, but for some reason Joose is still available (which was another alcohol + caffeine drink the FDA warned). Selective product bannanation ftw!

lulz. I know a few people who are rushing out to stock up this weekend, since apparently Four Loko needs to be out of stores here by Monday. I think I might get a few cans of each flavor and throw a Four Loko tasting party next year, and pair it with some nice cheeses. I figure that shit will be considered vintage at that point.

I heard from a trustworthy source that our campus had 5 medical transports over Halloween weekend this year due to alcohol poisoning, and 4 of them were Four Loko-related. I guess Joose will be the new go-to drink, at least until the FDA forces them to remove the caffeine.

I called a high school friend of mine I'm visiting over Thanksgiving - he had no idea of the ban! Sure enough he went out and... nothing. Joose is still on the market, and he said he's stocking up, lulz.

I said Y chromosomes aren't that plentiful, implying that men do not consist of 7/8 the population.

Thanks for helping me run this one into the ground.

So, you're saying more people should drive drunk 'cos when you have a crash you are less likely to die?

Sweet! I'm off to the drive-thru!

The bottom line is that health education doesn't really work. What works is health policy, and that's why we'll continue to see legislation that promotes public health.

The government not only has the prerogative but also the duty to restrict freedoms for the public good, and that's all this is. Legislation is far from always perfect, and regulation is generally more successful than restriction, but expect to see more government intervention in health policies because it gets the results that are demanded.

I decided to have a Four Loko while I still can, to see what the fuss is all about.

23.5 oz, 12% alcohol - one can is four beers. Unknown amounts of caffeine. Fruit Punch flavor.

This stuff is fucking gross. I'd rather go back to swigging Green Death NyQuil.

But - I'm already getting buzzed, so I can see what the appeal is to nineteen year olds. (I drank Boone's Farms at that stage in my life. And NyQuil.)

It seems like Florida has a 'Do no restock!' policy now on these kinds of drinks. RIP, Four Loko :-(

That said, my friend was the poster boy over Thanksgiving weekend for why these drinks should be banned. After drinking his first, he thought to himself "Huh, usually I feel more than this," and drank a second. Then drank the rest of his friend's. Then blacked out. Apparently he picked a fight with a kid while trying to hit on his girl friend, got his lip split open, punched him hard enough to crack his knuckles, and called up all his friends asking them to help him find the kid and beat him down. When he got home and his parents saw his face streaked with blood they tried to get him to go to the hospital - instead he left the house, claiming "I'll knock on every door on the street until someone tells me where Victor lives!" Note, that he had never seen "Victor" before, and his name wasn't actually Victor (his friend just told him that was his name). His dad drove down the street and picked him up and brought him to the hospital. As they stitched him up they insisted on giving him a Tetanus shot, and my friend apparently tried to escape. They stuck him while he was looking the other way.

He woke up the next morning remembering only one part. "I got in one good shot on the guy. That's all I remember. No more Four Loko ever."

Meh, doesn't sound any different from the chick who drinks a bottle or two of white zin and blacks out taking it in 3 holes at a time. Maybe we should get that banned, too.

If we ban taking it in 3 holes at a time, what will NixNot do!?

Thanks for the info. Though I don't know if I can handle any more of those things. I had to drink a beer to clear my palate, and was up until 4am, vibrating drunkenly.

You're not likely to find them anywhere right now anyway, depending on where you live.

I'm in a college town and they've been gone for weeks.

Inventories are emptying out here. The store I stopped on the way only had Fruit Punch again, and Watermelon. I thought it was Lemon/Lime. It does taste like watermelon, though.
