Giving up one's seatFollow

You know the score.

Crowded train, bus, tube/subway.

I'd usually rather stand than sit in a crowded subway anyways; more chances to cop a feel when the train sways.

I'm an American and don't take public transportation.

For old people? Yes. Poor to meh looking female that's about my age? No.

If it's an older, obviously feeble person, then sure I'll give up my seat. If it's a young-to-middle aged person who appears to be able-bodied, then usually not.

None of the above, really. It entirely depends on what I'm up to. Being way above average in age on the buses I normally take, I feel I have the right to stay in my seat if I'm actually doing work. If I'm just idly sitting there without being productive, it's different.

However, I will readily give up my seat if someone unbearably gross moves in on the seat next to mine. There's far too many people of that sort in Basingstoke. Maybe I should blame them for the deadlines I don't meet.

None of the above, exactly. I'll give up my seat to anyone who appears to need it, including the elderly and anyone who appears to be having a problem standing (or who just seems really tired).

I don't feel patronized when someone offers me a seat. I think it's nice. Usually I thank them but decline.

I'll give mine up if there's someone who needs it, but I won't give it to a woman just because she's a woman, she has legs, she can stand up like everyone else. If she's pregnant though, sure!

You'd blush like a little school girl and scribble down "I can't believe he noticed me!!!" in your notebook before collapsing into the abandoned spot.
