Dems will keep control of the Senate unless the GOP sweeps the rest of the seats not yet called.

Also, Blance Lincoln lost. What is the world coming to?! Smiley: eek

ABC and CNN both projecting that Republicans will take control of the House. No surprises there, I suppose.

No hate here. That ole black magic may have saved the Democratic majority in the Senate.

I feel like we could have just continued our PM conversation.

Except that PMs don't pad my post count.

Everyone I voted for today actually won. That's never happened before, even here in MA. I guess I can thank Scott Brown's victory for getting the Dems of MA off their asses and out to the polls.

A bit disappointed that pot wasn't legalized in CA though. Even more so than the Tea-OP taking the House.

Every Gub'mint becomes unpopular mid-term. Protest/grumpy votes always give the incumbent a reminder that nothing is guaranteed.

Holding the senate is a big deal from where I'm sitting.

Nah, I didn't like the Democrat (Alexi Giannoulias) either. He was a terrible candidate.

OK. It was 'Rory' that over-taxed the electorate's cognitive abilities. Apparently 'Harry' was less of a challenge.

Let the family disowning continue Smiley: oyvey

Yeah, wow.. Angle looks like she's getting trounced. I had suspected that if it didn't look as though the GOP would take the Senate that Reid would pull out a personal victory in a "Hey, we should probably keep the Majority Leader" wave of introspection but the race was already called at 40% reporting with Angle down by 6.

As of now, it looks like Democrats have 51 seats, Republicans 48 (Alaska is going to be Republican, regardless of who wins between the Republican candidate or the write-in), with Colorado and Washington to still be decided.

Amazing stuff.

I am a borderline Libertarian living in an "urban center" in a state with historical Democrat leanings. I didn't vote for a single winner yesterday. Fortunately for the country there were more correct thinking people in other parts of the country than there were in my particular city.

Unfortunately I am not remotely hopeful for a change in the status quo.

Well, Maine retained their two democratic congresspeople, but it looks like we elected the angry Rush quoting, tea-party fav Paul Lepage to be out Governor. One of his campaign promises was to do away with my Department. Smiley: eek

The one that once had to fine Mr. Lepage for non-compliance. The election hasn't actually been called yet. It's 37% for the independent hopefull, 38% for Lepage. I suspect a recount.
