This is a pretty easy thing to do, assuming you have trained your gag reflex.

"dealing with computer networks" is the ditch digging of the I.T. world. The awesome thing for you is that your entire field of study can be outsourced and handled by actual trained monkeys in Bangladesh. Go go Gadget sh:tty career choices.

As I get off from work early and get in my 40k car, I think about the horrible position I've put myself in. In 16 years, I can either continue to make 6 figures or retire and only get a 4-5k retirement check a month for doing absolutely nothing. Should I get another job and continue to make 6 figures, or should I take it easy for awhile?

That's about as impressive as varus telling us he ran ten miles one weekend.

I actually walked ten miles once, with no training and being overweight and never exercising. It was all uphill and downhill, and when I came home I collapsed on my bed and could barely move for two days.

Lesson learned, don't bite off more than you can chew, or try to act like a bigshot before you actually have trained for it.

I guess the same can apply for critical thinking and debating. /subtle hint

Getting your Atypical "Nerd" to talk is like dealing with person talking a language that only that person knows. I hate to shoot your 40k car down but, most of todays cars list at 40k. Now if you had a 100k + Porsche or Mercedes I'd be slightly amused. Most IT and mainframe people are living a fragile existence and are laid off in droves. I'm almost wondering if your mullet is current these days. As for digging ditches I'm willing to bet you can't even identify the correct shovels for the job.

So is calculating a magnetic flux in the Physics world, what's your point? I'm not in the "IT world", what I mentioned is a "Oh, by the way, you should know this too". It's only a fraction of what I do, but that's what I tell people, because it's what simple minded people can relate to and understand.

That's right, you're in the military, so it's not even really I.T., it's antiquing.

So, you're rocking a domestic pickup truck, don't work the job you charge the tax payers for and will be rewarded for mediocrity with a government pension? Yeah, sounds like the slacker's wet dream. You're like a recruiting poster or something. A few more good men like you and we won't have to keep handicapping our armed forces to keep other countries competitive.

As I get to my apartment, that I don't pay for, and turn on my lights and gas, which I don't pay for, I begin to get depressed on my future decision. I then utilize my free health care and see a doctor. The doctor advises me to take a few weeks off from work and take another vacation in some far off country. So, as I go home and finish up my nearly free masters in preparation for my second free real masters, I make plans for another vacation before I possibly move to Europe.. Hey Nobby!!!

Lol, you're not making any sense... Isn't the goal to get paid more for doing less? I would consider getting paid to do a monkey's job fulfilling that requirement. But hey, what do you know?

Smiley: facepalm

And you wonder why it bothers me to have you in our esteemed armed forces...
