So according to your great wisdom, the Korean peninsula is made of 2 distinct peninsula?

Actually, according to Alma's logic, it's made up of an infinite number of peninsuli, one existing wherever you subjectively decide to draw the lines. Any landmass attached to the Korean peninsula is, "by definition" the Korean Peninsula. Kazakhstan is part of the Korean Peninsula, just like Mississippi is part of the Florida Peninsula.

Did you actually look at the map? Tell me what's separating the southern tip of Alabama from the Western tip of Florida? I'll tell you what, an imaginary boundary that we created. That southern tip of Alabama could have easily been part of Florida and it would still be considered a peninsula.

The entire state of Florida isn't a peninsula, you @#%^ing idiot.

When you start trying to argue that Mississippi is a peninsula, a light should go off your brain that lets you know that your argument has lost all touch with reality. It would for any normal, sane person, at least.

I was going to link a whole bunch of definitions and citations, but then I realized that there's really no point. You've clearly gone full ******. And everybody knows you never go full ******.

The fact that all of Florida isn't a peninsula supports my claim. When people talk about man-made regions, they do not include the actual geographical make up. If the weather man said "Hurrican Eske is attacking the entire peninsula of Florida", people will register that as the entire state of Florida and not only the parts that are technically considered part of the peninsula.

So... some classified military documents about the geographical definition of the State of Florida were leaked?

If the weather man said "Hurrican Eske is attacking the entire peninsula of Florida", but the north edge of the effects of the storm stopped at Orlando, he'd be wrong.

Do you understand why?

Try as I might, I can't get this statement to make sense.

So...if someone talk about Manhattan they never mention that it's an island??

As a human, I'm made up of mostly oxygen and carbon, pretty much the same chemicals as land. Technically, I'm land. Air is made up of water molecules, and surrounds me.

By definition, I'm a peninsula!

Is this thread about gays yet?

I thought I felt something gay in here, but it may have just been resonance from the word "peninsula"

No, because North Korea isn't a peninsula.

Kazakhstan isn't surrounded by water, so no it is not practical for land mass to be made up of an infinite number of peninsuli and I don't even think it is theoretically either. Besides, you proved my point by stating that not all of Florida is a peninsula. That is a much better example than using Mississippi.

It's just like the weather man example I just used. When people say the Florida Peninsula, I think it is safe that most people are thinking the entire state as opposed to the parts that are actually part of the peninsula. If you live in Florida, you might make that distinction, but for everyone else, it's one state.

Or another example, cities that are in two separate states such as Memphis. When people say "where is Memphis?" They say Tennessee. Technically, Memphis is in Tennessee and in Arkansas.

Or another example, islands. People say that Japan and Hawaii are islands. That's wrong, they are technically groups of islands. The actual geography matters less in reference to man-made regions.

------------------------------------------------
I concede.

As I said before, this isn't my terminology that I created. This what people who live in Korea say. I'll stick with that terminology, where South Korea is a peninsula and the Korean Peninsula is the composition of the two countries. If it bothers you so much that a country that is surrounded by water on three boarders is called a peninsula, then that sounds like a personal problem to me.

I'm going to blame it on Varus. I'm not sure why. It just seems apropos.

All this talk of peninsulas within peninsulas makes me think of Fighter and his dual-wielding swordchucks. Perhaps we've uncovered Alma's true identity? Would explain a lot. <_<

Now if only we could get Black Mage to post.

C'ock punches are a bit over-rated, if not cool to witness. Personally I've always found it more effective to grip it and beat the partner severely about the head, neck and face. This won't work with a small *****.
