I'm currently sitting in Narita waiting for my connecting flight to Shanghai. The business lounges here are way nicer than the ones in the US, but not on par with, say, the lounge in Dubai international.

Tomorrow we will probably go to the shanghai world fair and try to find a street market for cheap souvenirs.

Son's soccer game Saturday morning, maybe lunch out with the family and the inevitable errands. Sometime this weekend I get to go shopping with the lovely gift card the girls gave me for my birthday.

Thinking of you and your hubby DF!

Milling Machine update:

The motors and drive bets are on there, and the cable carrier chains are mocked in. The mill is sitting on the mill table I built. Eventually there will be a large plastic and aluminum cube on top that encloses it, but I haven't got that far yet. No mill top yet, debating on converting it to a 4th axis trunnion table. Controller is on the way, but not hear yet, which is the last major mill component aside from the enclosure.

I need to find more people to tutor. It's pretty easy money, and there's no shortage of people who are forced to take math!

I went rollerskating for the first time in 25 years yesterday. I created some real Xanadu magic out there, man.

You were saying?

Yes, yes, we all know you played high school basketball and your coach kicked your drama-queen *** out. Don't you have to be at the gym in 26 minutes?

Why do stupid rednecks always take so much pride in having played high school sports? It's as though they think it makes them important.

Because it's the only thing he accomplished in life that wasn't handed to him by his daddy?

Cycling is for f*gs who don't mind getting testicular cancer. Besides I can't really take the dog jogging with me if i'm cycling.

And running is for people who **** themselves during races

When your high school coach benches you an entire game in front of top college scouts your senior year to play the son of the head of the school board it's time to move on. Which turned out to be a great decision as I ended up playing 4yrs of college ball and one year overseas. But more than that it got my brother out of corrupt situation and gave him the chance to get the full ride we were both playing for, not to mention also presenting the oppurtunity to play in one of the top european leagues for over 10yrs.

You have no idea what it's like to be a real athlete so I understand your ignorance on the subject.

Those are the ones who play professional basketball in the United States, ya goof.

European basketball... hehehe. Always good for a laugh when you bring that up.

Nah, I'm making fun of how your ego seems to rely on your supposed athletic ability. Of course, as you're going past middle age, you're losing it

You almost went pro, old man!

Sweety,

Old? As long as I can continue to weigh what I did in college and feel healthy that's all that matters to me these days.

However, I do look on my sports experience with fond memories.

After all I did once score 63 against one of the top aau teams in the nation. Got my name in the paper and everything in a touranment with more than a handful of future NBA players.

It's not surprising age would lower your standards.

You wouldn't understand. Some people like to push themselves to become the person they want to be, both physically, mentally, and spiritually. They also understand that hard work and determination are the keys to succeeding in these endeavors. Concepts apparently foreign to you and your liberal bretheren. Every time things get tough for you people you start running to govn or simply quit; i.e. Obama's economic team.

Sweety was the one who began talking sh*t at the mere mention that I planned on running 5 miles this weekend. Debo chimed in with his own high school stories about running 10miles every morning in high school, which is fine. My only question would be what are you doing now.

p.s. I only ran 2miles last night in the dark at the park after work. Full moons coming up and jogging through the park when it's full this time of year is quite a rush.
No, believe me, I understand the fun in physical activity... even if I am one of those "*** cyclists." I won't, however, sit around and jerk myself off by calling it some sort of spiritual journey.
