All blue on blue jokes aside, I'm actually in the "don't negotiate with terrorists/kipnappers camp and i totally support the discision to go ahead with the operation and as an ex forces person myself i understand that plans only last until the first shot is fired.

Very sad that such a brave lady died at the hands of her would be rescuers thou :(

That just makes the US look terrible. I agree that you shouldn't negotiate with terrorists but I'm sure as long as she is alive that's a hell of a lot better than being killed.

It makes it all the more suspicious that the US was more involved in her death than they were leading to believe. I find it pretty hard to not be able to determine whether a grenade or an explosive vest killed her. Unless they just happened to be detonated simultaneously where you couldn't tell the difference between the two explosives. Or it is possible that the grenade caused the vest to explosive therefore still resulting in her death being cause mainly by the US.

Throwing a grenade into a area not really knowing whether or not your target was nearby sounds irresponsible and a lack of judgment.

I agree; it's a horrible tragedy but the mission was a top priority. By all accounts she was dead anyways and it was only a matter of time. The outcome was indeed unfortunate.
