It's not that surprising once you find out he's on the watchlist because he's a frequent traveler to the middle east, and he knows it. It is kinda ****** up the government can track you like this without a warrant though.

I find it kind of sad that the FBI can plant this on someones car without a warrant and then threaten the person if they don't give it back.
It's a pretty interesting story. It sounds like all they based this investigation on was one anonymous tip and a post on a blog by his friend. Well and the fact he frequently traveled to the middle east, but if that's all their basis then they have a hell of a lot more people to track. There are a lot of international students all over the country who go home throughout the school year.
