U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle says :
Quote:
"I keep hearing about Muslims wanting to take over the United States ... on a TV program just last night, I saw that they are taking over a city in Michigan and the residents of the city, they want them out. They want them out. So, I want to hear your thoughts about that."

Except that she didn't say that. Maybe a course in reading comprehension might help?

True. But she certainly agrees with it.

Quote:
Angle responds that "we're talking about a militant terrorist situation, which I believe it isn't a widespread thing, but it is enough that we need to address, and we have been addressing it."

"My thoughts are these, first of all, Dearborn, Michigan, and Frankford, Texas are on American soil, and under constitutional law. Not Sharia law. And I don't know how that happened in the United States," she said. "It seems to me there is something fundamentally wrong with allowing a foreign system of law to even take hold in any municipality or government situation in our United States."

Why? Do you think that may help her become less of an ignorant bigot?

Maybe you're right...

It certainly looks like that's what she said.

She also said this:

Angle wrote:
"My thoughts are these, first of all, Dearborn, Michigan, and Frankford, Texas are on American soil, and under constitutional law. Not Sharia law. And I don't know how that happened in the United States," she said. "It seems to me there is something fundamentally wrong with allowing a foreign system of law to even take hold in any municipality or government situation in our United States."

Article wrote:

Dearborn, Mich., has a thriving Muslim community. It was not immediately clear why Angle singled out Frankford, Texas, a former town that was annexed into Dallas around 1975.

Dearborn Mayor Jack O'Reilly called Angle's comments "shameful." He said tea party groups inaccurately spread the word that his Detroit suburb was ruled by Islamic law after members of an anti-Islam group were arrested at an Arab cultural festival in June because a Christian volunteer complained of harassment.

"She took it as face value and maligned the city of Dearborn and I consider that totally irresponsible," he said. "If she wants to come here, I will take her on a tour. I will show her we follow the Constitution just as well as anyone else."

Listen Gbaji, some of these Tea Party candidates aren't very bright & walk the fine line between douchebaggary & bigotry (Like the dude who pretends to be a ****, Angle's anti-muslim statements, Rand Paul's thoughts on the civil rights act, et. al). Then, when ACTUAL republicans come out against this stuff, like Cantor did against the **** reenacter, the tea party jumps all over the actual republicans.

Why would they do that?

'Cause of that underlying bigotry within the tea party. Guess electing Obama didn't really move us "beyond race", instead it gave the bigots a rallying cry.

Yea. Its true.

I'm guilty. I misquoted her.

What she actually said was "muslims, blah blah blah, Sharia law, blah, fundamental blah taking over blah *****, Auschwitz, blah"

Sorry.

No, he's WORSE! A Muslim masquerading as a Christian who purposely picked the most radical church he could find!

Except that church is in Chicago and he now lives in DC and he hasn't attended it in two years.

It's not like one can retroactively un-attend a church. If I could, I'd retroactively un-attend at least 16 or so years of Catholic church from my childhood and sleep in on Sundays like I do now.

No. I just think that if you're going to attack someone for something they said, you should at least accurately quote what they actually said instead of quoting something said by someone else and pretending that they said it instead. Crazy, I know!

Paul quoted the wrong section because he picked the most easy to attack quote in the article. Too bad it wasn't said by the person he wanted to attack though.
