They still show that? I'd love to watch that with my sister - I'm sure she's never seen it.

Do you or do you not believe that it is possible for a nonbeliever to commit blasphemy? Yes or No.

In the eyes of a believer, yes. However, only in eyes (or ears) of the believer. Just because you think something I said is blasphemous does not make it generally so.

So, you don't believe that there can exist an action that can generally be considered blasphemous regardless of your belief or if you think it is or not?

This. Exactly this. Blasphemy is, by nature, a religious definition. America is not, and should not be, goverened by religious law, nor should any other place on earth be. Unfortunately, there are places where a madwoman with a crowbar would be the least of this artist's worries. Perhaps Alma and his ilk would prefer to live in one of those places. I, however, would not.

Uh, no. You're just focusing on the religion part, just as every other anti-religious person does. Reading the definition, the only difference between blasphemy and any other action that may be considered rude or inconsiderate is the fact that the object in question is considered sacred. This is why the definition I quoted does not make the fictional distinction that you, BD and Belkira are making.

Yeah, but just a moment ago, you were in agreement. To him, it's not blasphemy. And no one else knows about it. Therefore...

Let's all agree that what Alma means to say is that just because something you do isn't blasphemy to you doesn't mean it's not blasphemy to someone else.

No, that's what I said on page @#%^ing one.

ON PAGE ****** ONE, I wrote:
The funny thing about blasphemy is that it's only blasphemy if you subscribe to the religion.

At the risk of being pedantic, that's *not* the same thing at all. That's like saying it's only theft if you subscribe to a moral code in which taking things from people without their permission is wrong. Um... It's still theft to the person you stole from. Just as your act is still blasphemous to the person who believes in a given religion, even if you don't.

Get it? A non believer can still commit a blasphemous act in the eyes of a believer. That's the bit I think you keep missing. He may not think it's blasphemous, but the religious person does.

Are we done with this silly argument yet?

I'm pretty sure that as soon as alma posts everyone just gives up on there being any further reasonable discourse.

Three counts.

Heresy by thought, heresy by word, heresy by deed, and heresy by--four counts.
