In case you libs didn't hear apparently you guys had a big rally Saturday.

Link

I'm waiting for Catwho to put down her box of twinkies and claim that she saw on Daily Kos there was over 1 million people there.

Ha! Not even close to a mil. Estimates rate from 100K-200K, depending on who you ask.

The One Nation and Beck-con will probably both be overshadowed by the Stewart/Colbert rally on the 30th. Now that, I expect to approach half a mil.
#3ThiefX, Posted: Oct 03 2010 at 5:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If by depending on who you ask is other liberals then they will tell you there was more than 100k there. Weren't you one of the people claiming that Glen Beck only had 80,000 or less?
#4 Oct 03 2010 at 5:34 PM Rating: Good
No, some major news networks were the ones claiming Glenn Beck had 80K or less. The actual range is guesstimated to be 80-100K based on square footage calculations from the aerial photos. Yahoo did a bit of a workup about it: http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20100830/cm_yblog_upshot/glenn-beck-rally-sparks-debate-over-crowd-size The upper range is probably more accurate.

I'm unsure about the authenticity of those photos; they don't have camera time stamps on them, just photoshopped dates. They are also clearly different times of the day. Trying to get a pin on where they came from, but the only place they show up are on right wing blogs. (Hmmmmm!) If the bottom one is 9AM and the top one is 4PM, then it's comparing apples to oranges.

Here's a ground shot from the afternoon on 10/2: http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp277/StraightTalkingPoint/stuff/DSC_9682.jpg
#5ThiefX, Posted: Oct 03 2010 at 5:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't really care about crowd size the only reason I started this thread is because for weeks after Glen Becks rally libs were constantly claiming the pictures of the Beck rally were false and every few days you or some other lib on this board would use a lower and lower number when ever Beck rally was mentioned. (At one point I honestly thought one of you was going to claim that Beck was the only one at his rally and everyone else were just random people that happened to wander by when the picture was taken)

Probably because they didn't have an airplane to take a higher angle? The MSM is so anti-Dem that no one bothered to take a verified aerial shot on any major media websites. Again, I can't find where that second shot came from, and your OP doesn't list the source either.

And your ground shot is front the front of the rally do you think maybe there is a reason why they didn't show a different angle?

Because it's hard to find a person taller than 6-and-some-change feet?

What exactly is the point of showing up to these rallies anyway... I'm pretty sure if I cared enough to listen to any of the speakers, I could listen just as well to a TV/Radio broadcast as I could traveling to DC and standing around doing and accomplishing nothing for hours on end.

This thread is an awesome indication as to what an incredibly dull and unfulfilling life the OP has.
Gratz!

No, you don't care about crowd size. You just care about how big the crowd is at the Beck rally and blah blah blah for another paragraph and a half.

I dunno how you can start a thread laughing about crowd size then say "I don't care about crowd size."

In the single thread we have that actually addressed the rally in any way at all, all that was said about the attendees was simply to report what other groups were saying. Then it went with Gbaji justifying exaggerated reports because everyone does it, not that anyone really cared, and that was about it. The discussion lasted about 1 week, and I didn't see any posts about made up pictures, although there was one post that referred to an event way way in the past where fox messed up the pics from two different rallies. Me thinks you're projecting just a tad here. I'm not sure which threads you're reading, but I think they must exist just in your head.

Based on the comments in this thread, I'm going to put a crowd estimate on it of 182.

Finally got an explanation of the bottom photo. It was taken around 8:30AM or earlier, because by 9AM they'd shut off the lawns on the side of the reflecting pool and hauled in fences and porta potties.

So it's as I said - different times of day. Apples to oranges. The only folks in the bottom photo are the ones that camped on the mall overnight.

On that note, the Associated Press is saying Beck's was a bit larger.

Congratulations! you win!

(And then the Stewart/Colbert rally at the end of the month will put them both to shame.)

Never heard mention of the rally before either.

I would HOPE the party that's out of power would have a better turn-out. It's the way these things work.
