It's been awhile (quite awhile) but when Clinton and Yeltsin came to Hyde Park for their summit Way Back When there was a (squad? wing? flock?) of Apache gunships buzzing about for awhile. That was impressive.

I asked a bunch of Navy pilots staying here if they'd let me come take pictures of their planes so I could get a higher karma score on the internet, but they said no. Smiley: glare

If you get me a shiny Nikkor AF-S 200-400mm f4 VR2 lens I'll get you all the photos of airplanes you want in large enough quality to print them at A3 size as well.

I saw the Thunderbirds either last year or the year before when they were at Hill and spent some time BSing with them after the show. They were saying some of the drills they run put them within inches of each other. Cool to watch, scary as **** to imagine.

The Blue Angels were just out here at Kaneohe Bay but we missed it. I was told they were supposed to be here while RIMPAC was going on, but I never saw them.

Although living on the largest fighter jet base in the US for three years, then moving to PACAF headquarters, seeing jets in flight is pretty much a daily occurrence.

And flying during a storm isn't as uncommon as you might think.

I have some pictures/video of the Chicago Air and Water show in 2009 I believe. They aren't Blue Angels but Thunderbirds. I'll try and post them in a bit.

Alright, here are some pictures I have from the Chicago Air and Water Show.

First: (Original)
Front - Single Engine Stunt Plane
Top - F-15 Eagle
Bottom - I believe it is an F-18
Back - A10 Warthog

Second: (Orignal) F-15 Eagle with afterburners on.

Third: Thunderbirds in their F-16's.

Fourth: Thunderbirds in the diamond formation.

Fifth: Thunderbirds, low level slow flying with landing gear out.

Sixth: (Orignal) Thunderbirds in their mirror formation.

Seventh: A lone Thunderbird with a wft? object caught on my camera. I think I spotted a UFO. I zoomed in on my camera as far as I could, I could not tell what it was. Possibly a balloon over the lake. Or since it was on the beach a spec of sand thrown into the air. I have no clue.

EDIT: Wow some of the images are pretty small after I cropped them. I don't know how to use photobucket, I just signed up for it for this.
