The Obama administration has cited the state-secrets argument in at least three cases since taking office - in defense of Bush-era warrantless wiretapping, surveillance of an Islamic charity, and the torture and rendition of CIA prisoners.
My point is that the US administration is carrying on business as usual, and then some, and no-one really seems to give a toss anymore because everyone is arguing about the economy or slagging Palin off.
It seems to me that because Obama is in charge now, there is an assumption that he will 'do the right thing' amongst the Dems, (and the Pubes are so busy hating his colour) and whilst there is that perception amongst the bickering electorate, then they will continue along the same path of idiotic and destructive foreign policy that has been travelled along previously, because they feel that they can get away with it.
Seems to be working a treat too!
