I finally decided who I'll be casting my gubernatorial vote for. The current front runner Paul Lepage, the republican nominee for Governor of the country's eastern most state, is about as far right as they get.

Libby Mitchell, long time Maine politician and current President of our Senate is the Democratic nominee. She'd not be my first pick to run the state, but she's adequate and not scary. I'd been hoping one of the three independents would shine, but they've not.

So, here's to my share of campaigning. If you're a Mainer - Vote Libby.

The Illinois ballot is full of 'tards this cycle. I'll be voting for my congressional rep with enthusiasm because I like her and voting to keep our Attorney General. Beyond that, I suppose I'll vote (D) for senate just to help keep the majority and not because the guy is any good (although Kirk (R) isn't any better). Governor, I don't know. They both suck eggs and my guy lost in the primary.

Before reading, I thought this thread was about Scooter Libby announcing his candidacy for President.

I am thoroughly disappointed.

Here in New LiberalLand, we're looking to replace our blind, incompetent Lt. Governor. Good thing Patterson realized way back when that running for election was a complete waste.

I'd go for Andy Cuomo, if only because he's a known entity and can personally break enough kneecaps to get things done. What things, I still need to look into. Though I have some nagging doubts about putting another NYS AG into Albany. We'll see.

Minor hijack.

Here in my town there is a guy running for something (forget what) but his last name is Chumley. So there's all these signs saying "Vote Chumley"

Anyone who has seen "Pawn Stars" will know why I find this amusing.

Roy Barnes wasn't my first pick for the Dem nominee here in GA, but now that Nathan Deal has been exposed as a possible fraud, a probable liar, and a bad businessman no matter which way you look at his situation, I'm gonna hold my nose and vote for Barnes as the lesser of two evils.

Kirk looks like he joined John Boenher's tanning salon.

Awful fake tan in his most recent commercial.
