You can also use a firefox plugin to fix the stylesheet as well. Stylish is the name, just add this code in:

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

  #wrapper { max-width: 2000px !important; }  
}

Set to 2000 pixels just to be arbitrarily large. Change the domain to whatever skin you use alla forums for (allakhazam.com or zam.com) Gets around the problem fairly well, makes a big difference running maximized at 1920x1080. Of course since I fixed that myself and even with premium it won't add that functionality anyway, there's really no need to get premium...
