So I'm walking to the c-train to take it home from work, when a guy on his bike just passed me. Asked me if I wanted to buy his bike for 10$. I was thinking at first it was broken, he said it wasn't and I don't think it is (I rode it home except on the c-train). Then he said that he needed money for food, figured I'd help him out a bit. After I ride away, I realize the bike was most likely stolen and he was probably going to use the money for drugs. Thoughts?

I'm sleepy and I don't feel like working out tonight. I will anyway, but still.

I don't feel like working out either, riding the bike up the high hill to get it home was enough.

I hope he steals it back from you and sells it to the original owner for $5.

scrape out the serial number and paint it.

edit - ok, if you want to have a clear conscious, call the police dept. tell them the story. If they get a report of the stolen bike, you can give it back to the owner - maybe even suggest reimbursing you the ten bucks. There's a good chance it doesn't get reported. If you want a good ten dollar bike, follow the earlier advice.

Pawn shops don't necessarily want an obviously hot bike.

Ten bucks for a bicycle isn't normal.

But on meth, it is!

My grandfather is an alcoholic, and he traded an old Camaro he had in his garage for a bike. He was drunk and pissed off at his son (who wanted the car). A couple guys walked by and asked him about the car in his garage, he said give me that bike and it's yours.

Pretty much it's going to the police station for now. My bet's that it won't get reported, and the rule I believe is if nobody comes to claim it within a month it's yours. Remember this because a guy pulled off a scam with it. He'd just steal bikes and turn them into the police. Sold the bikes to people.

I need a better bike. My 5' 1/4" height makes me have to use kiddie bikes. And I'm tired of the pink daisies.

You could always see if an auto body shop will paint it for you. First bike I got(or was it the second?) was a hand me down that my uncle painted at his shop because it was a pink bike.
