Yea, she could be dangerous if put in a position to affect policy. Basil wouldn't get anything done.

See, this is why I said I'd vote for Basil before I'd vote for her.

Thankfully, I'll never have to choose between the two. Smiley: lol

The green party candidate seemed pretty cool. He'd probably get dope legalized.

I can see now how the rest of the nation can take part in the new drinking game!

Have a shot of Tennessee Whiskey, every time someone post a link to youtube video of Basil idiocy.

Most, I said.
These guys are from Tennessee, that's a major plus for the state in my book.

He lost horribly in the primary gathering about .5% of the votes, and from what I understand anyone can vote in the Tennessee primary elections so it's plausible to say most of those were joke votes.
I'd say that most of those were from Dems and insane Pubs. If he had won the primary, it'd be the easiest election in the country for whatever the Democratic candidate would be.

Oh wow, I actually started watching this video... it's a lot more hilarious than I expected it would be. Within the first two minutes, Basil Marceaux just randomly walks out of the room, and the first person brought up to the podium is a local wrestler with a foot long beard named "Josephus the Shelby Street Brawler". Wonder what was going through the minds of the dozen and a half people that attended. And what's with moving the flag out of the room when Basil Marceaux dot com comes back to say the pledge? Is that the "removing gold fringed flags from the state" claim that he mentioned in his first TV spot? What does he have against American flags with gold trim around the edge? Still don't know what the "real flag with three stripes" would be.

Oh, Tennessee. You make me lol.

Yes, I suppose being grossly misinformed doesn't really constitute lying.

bsphil,

The real question is would you prefer to elect someone who looks and sounds good but is habitual liar or elect a truthful hillbilly who has no idea what he's talking about but at least he's being honest, in his own mind.
Given the non-existent dilemma, I'd prefer a liar over a complete idiot. At least that liar looks a thousand times better.

Fairly certain Obama isn't running for governor of TN.

Yeah, go back to the good ol' days where Bush just wanted to hold hands and kiss.

Good grief.

That 'being honest in his own mind' assertation can be applied to so many people throughout history.

I know you mean it, but there's still legitimate room for other people to assume you are joking. You have no reason to oblige me, but I'd appreciate it if you would state that in all seriousness you literally believe the U.S. would be better off if Basil Marceaux was president instead of Barack Obama.

Well, we did have some yokel from Arkansas running the show for awhile. Does that count?
