I was talking about the actual LDS underwear, but that sounds even worse.

You're welcome to your underwear. Hope you don't mind me thinking my underwear is none of your business?

So you're saying you don't use the LDS sanctioned underwear? If you were you'd be happy to laud it. :P

Thats pretty illogical. No I am not interested in telling you about my underwear. lol. Most people I know, LDS or not don't really discuss their underwear.
I have noticed that bsphil has a thing about LDS underwear in the past which I find odd. Do you dream about them, bsphil? Do you covet them for your own? Do you have dreams of designing new versions? I am really curious as to what your fascination is for them. Fess up, bsphil!
Asylum is really good at going off topic isn't it. ^^

I find it funny, just like the rest of the LDS.

People's underwear aside, I don't rate anyone down for their political views and I doubt many people rate me up since it'd be a pretty empty gesture at this point.

I find the concept of a religion requiring any particular underwear to be amusing.

Our Lady of Hanes. Sacred Heart of Victoria's Secret. Oh, that sounds like a book I'd read.

That said, there is a point behind it; that whites are generally better off than minorities in this country for no reason besides the perception of their skin color.
I think there are a lot of other factors there besides skin color perception, but I can't think of any factors that the perpetuation of said perception through non-race-blind policies would help alleviate in the long term.

Same could be said for Beck. :D He makes a few good points
Can you name any? I've tried to sit through his show a couple times, but I always end up changing the channel after a few moments out of absolute contempt. Even point I've seen him attempt to make relies primarily on false or misleading information tied together with faulty logic and association gaps so ridiculous that it boggles my mind why anyone would listen to the lunatic. Five minutes of fact checking or a rudimentary knowledge of culture, economics, history or political process is more than enough to completely rip through anything I've ever heard him say.

I would love to go back through Beck's stuff to find some points he is right on but could we make it sometime when I am feeling more masochistic?

Rating people down for their political views is silly.

I used to rate varrus up when unrated posts would actually disappear.

You did, it was the basis for your post. No, I don't rate conservatives differently. People who present arguments based on facts and sound logic with adequate sources get rated up, the opposite, down. Just so happens we don't have any liberals posting here that sound like this (though sometimes catwho can edge into that territory, just not remotely close enough).

Funny, when they stopped disappearing I stopped rating him down because there wasn't a reason to rate him down anymore.

And it has nothing to do with his political views and everything to do with the fact that he's a blithering idiot who's a blight on conservatives everywhere.

second
There is a big difference between rationally disagreeing with someone and just copypastaing "<insert insult here> <insert opposing political party>!" over and over. I don't have any issues rating the latter out of existence.

It was mostly just annoying to read threads that had half the conversation missing.

Last Post on the Subject of Race:

I leave you with the following thoughts regarding Obama's election:

Is it not true that if a white person said or thought that "race mattered" during the last elevtion & voted for McCain, that they were racist? Sure, other factors may have played a part, but if "race mattered" to a white person & they voted for McCain one can easily make the conclusion that said person was, in fact, racist.

On the flip side, if an African American said race mattered & voted for Obama (9 out of 10 did btw), using the textbook definition then that black person too would be considered a racist.

But they aren't. As African Americans, their subordination has continued to be institutionalized, so voting for Obama because of his race makes sense. It's a reaction TO institutionalized racism, not racism itself.

Even if an African American voted for Obama for no other reason than they hated white people (so voted against McCain), that's still a reaction TO the institutionalized racism said African American (and their ancestors) have been subjugated to over generations. If that institutionalized racism was never there, that African American wouldn't have the resentment of white people that they had when they went to the voting booth. Yes, that black person is prejudiced and/or a bigoted, but not a racist.

You can't even begin to know if that's a true statement, and it seems to be pretty much the crux of your whole theory. Frankly, it looks like a great deal of mental gymnastics to try and validate white guilt, more than define racism. Sorry you bought into it when whatever professor you had a crush on started evangelizing. He must have had a huge **** and muddy complexion, I reckon.
