Of course. And if we adopt the regulatory changes the GOP wants, and it causes some other massive economic disaster, I'll be the first to say that the GOP should take the blame for it.

Lol... If it's actually a GOP policy which does it. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to automatically adopt someone else's position on an issue because they blame the GOP for something. That's kinda the rub, isn't it? There's usually more than one hand in the cookie jar. In the same way that I'm willing to place
some blame on the GOP for failing to prevent the current economic crisis, but greater blame on the Dems for actively pursuing an agenda which lead to it, I'm not going to place sole blame in the GOP for other things which may only tangentially be their fault.
I look at what happened. I look at the changes that lead up to it. And I examine who actually pushed for those changes. When you do this, you'll get a better idea of why things happened, and who's responsible, and perhaps even some clue as to how to avoid similar things in the future.
