Took the family to Mt Ruapehu for a weekend of snow and apres ski relaxation....

Ruapehu is an andecite volcano that still erupts from time to time, about 5 hours drive from Auckland. On a clear day you can watch the sun set into the sea from the upper ski slopes...
Then we hung about in Lake Taupo for the afternoon,
lazed about in some hot springs
and then went for a helicopter ride. Pub lunch to follow and then blatted home listening to Fat Freddies Drop.
Its spring here in NZ. I like spring a lot.
