Enjoy the journey Hairdresser/Incubator

This weekend is all about the li'l lady's father's 84th Birthday. Saturday is hunting down a very specific model locomotive for his 80 yard track around the garden, then going to collect it.

Sunday afternoon is a big family lunch where we'll hand it over, then all the wimminz will gaggle in the garden room/conservatory while all the blokes (from 24 to 84) become 11 year old model train geeks.

Happy days.

I've got a wedding to go to.

A friend/ex-co-worker and roommate of mine is marrying a friend of my wife's, who was also an ex-co-worker/roommate of mine.

Its rare thing for me to be envious of the weekends that people say they're having in these threads, but in this case...You B'stard! That sounds awesome!

Real ale, beards and oily steamy chuffing machines. Brilliant!

Ever been to the Bishops Castle Steam Rally Nobby? Its like Fred Dibners wet dream. With a beer tent.

Seriously? Everyone that's not from Quebec I meet has never ate any and almost everyone not from here hates it too.

Friday night will be spent either playing video games or D&D.

Saturday night we are apparently going to a friends apartment to laugh about the spam bot that has been contacting him through eHarmony.

Sunday I'll be doing laundry and maybe D&D.

Most places outside of Quebec don't make it right, but they do make it.

1st time last year. Wish I'd known about it sooner! (On the back of it I went to a similar event at Shugborough Hall a week later)

But I learned to operate a steam thresher and a steam plough at the age of 9. My dad's Uncle was a farmer who never turned his back on steam power; from 1934 to 1978 he never replaced any of his heavy machinery.

Poutine is supposed to be made with cheese curds. Most places just substitute it with run of the mill mozzarella chunks.

More furniture shopping, a healthy dose of StarCraft 2, and possibly Lollapalooza on Sunday to see Soundgarden.

At least it's a cheese that (1) melts at something above room temperature and (2) isn't indescribably nasty.

A lot of the pictures of poutine I've seen seem to have Cheddar on them, though, not mozzarella.

Every year a couple of my buddies put together an outdoor charity rock concert/festival dealy. All the proceeds goes to a local kid with cancer. I'm not sure who the kid is this year, but last year it was a little seven year old girl, and a few years back it was a baby named Alex, who comes back every year to party with us. So far, he's doing great. Anyway, I'll be spending most of this weekend under tent at the gate taking money and telling people where to park. It's my good deed for the year.

We used to get the Americanized version, "cheese fries" which I always got with mozzarella and gravy.
