Back to the topic though, I understand the usage of "get", but does that mean the word "been" is the incorrect word to use? I mean surely saying "This was repetitive a long time ago" is also correct? Or is that wrong as well?
That works.

Which is more than I can say about certain people's lines of reasoning.

Ok, thanks.. I'll keep that in mind..

For "certain people", their lines of reasoning can not be helped.

That's not algebra. That's first grade addition. You could train a dog to do it.

I don't think you care as I don't care either or I wouldn't be here. From my experiences, people who insulted alla on it's own forum are not frequent posters. Usually around updates, patches and expansions there will be some poster giving their 2 cents while at the same time ridiculing alla. It usually ends with the fact that the poster also has an alla account and is currently posting here as well. Then that person usually shuts up and goes back where s/he came from.

And that's geek gibberish. It's nonsensical, inappropriately angsty and based on some error in your comprehension which made you rant about FFXI posters on Allakhazam. It came from nowhere and indicated a lack of coolness in you. A real distinct absence of awesome. That's the very fUcking definition of geek gibberish, a term I invented earlier today and which you now practice alone.

Wow, BT, welcome to my point..

Sure BT, you don't have to try to defend yourself to me. Take all of that anger and apply it to something positive and more productive. Here's an idea, how about putting all of that energy towards an attempt of actually having some value in life.

I mean, it has to be embarrassing to be schooled by an ape...

Hehe, I don't know why, but that geek gibberish thing really gets under your inferior skin.

Huh? So your point was that grammar is a thing, and you fail at something less difficult like maybe spelling? Weird point. I can help, though, with your spelling. Repetition is key, homie.

This thread is giving me a headache.

Back on topic, the proponents have 3 more days to file an appeal. Gay marriage resumes in CA as of the 18th, unless the 9th circuit opts to bump it up to the top of the docket and issue the stay despite the decision by Judge Walker and the request of the State of CA (which really has no interest in wasting more money on this, being in such massive state debt and all.)

So, what exactly happens if the proponents file an appeal? What will happen on the 18th?

Explain an example..
I can't explain an example until I give you one, so you'd have to say "give an example and explain it"
So here's an example with explanation:
Almalieque wrote:
Lol, you know that is not under my skin. Are you really going through this much effort in order to "turn the tables" and save face?
There's no turning the table except maybe in your world, BT is just making fun of you and you don't even seem to get what he's saying half the time.
It took you quite a few posts to figure out that you used "repetition" instead of "reputation" if you've actually figured that out yet, I'm not entirely sure. You didn't really seem to get that BT was making fun of you with that.

You also constantly twist and turn what you're arguing about so it's almost impossible to get what the **** you're talking about each post.
It might be easier to follow if you took the time to form coherent sentences, read over your posts a few times before posting them probably helps you get rid of the messed up sentences.

His phrase was poorly worded, but none of your logic is sound, and all most of your posts contain numerous spelling, grammar, and phrasing errors.

edited for me actually reading through.

#895Almalieque, Posted: Aug 15 2010 at 2:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Here is the thing. I suck at grammar, I don't deny it. I make mistakes, but it's not like I don't care either. I actually do read over my posts and I provided reasons why that happens.

I find it funny how a person can argue against my "incoherent" posts for multiple pages, get confronted with valid points, then all of the sudden "none of my posts make sense". When I ask to quote a post for further clarification, it isn't done.
I'm nowhere near perfect at English but at least I don't make mistakes like "He probably still haven't figured that out".
And English isn't even my native language.

Oh and for the record, your posts never made sense, It's not an "all of a sudden" thing.
If you read what people posted here you would have seen quite a few that say that you're not making sense.
#898Almalieque, Posted: Aug 15 2010 at 2:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You do realize that people tend to be more grammatically correct in foreign languages than in their native language right? There's a reason for that, see if you can guess it.

In all honesty, and I'm seriously not trying to be an ***, here is the problem as I see it:

A thread is created and Alma posts in it with a point, statement, or argument that I disagree with. When I engage him with it, he runs roughshod over the entire thing, pointing out semantics and over arcing tangents that either have been already discussed, the meaning of which is already agreed upon or understood, or are largely irrelevant to the point at hand. You can't stay on the topic of the discussion, because he insists on pulling it around to this or that avenue. When you try to drag the conversation back to the point, kicking and screaming, he insists that you have to defend a point that he has made up, or your argument is not valid. Just like Samira said, it's how he will dominate and control a conversation. And she's absolutely right, there's no point in engaging in a discussion because it ends up being ridiculous and pointless.

For my part, I try to stay strong and not engage, but sometimes a post seems so glaringly wrong I can't help myself. Then I feel obligated to stay in the dance and I get caught up in the pointless branches for far too many pages, thinking I can somehow get my point across. I'm never really sure if I do or not, though, because Alma has a tendency to find some random point that he disagrees with and latch onto that. At first, I think, "Once I can explain this part to him, he'll get what I'm saying and we can get back to the meat of it." But that doesn't happen. So, seeing no end in sight, I will finally bow out.

Yes, his grammar and spelling can sometimes be bad, but I can usually figure out what he's saying. Honestly, we can all have issues with that. I think the biggest problems are that he's rather condescending at times (i.e. "that's not what's going on here. See if you can figure out why." If you disagree, then say why you disagree. If you think a point is wrong, say why it's wrong. It's something that always makes me roll my eyes at gbaji, too) and talks to you like you are a child, and that I can't figure out his thought processes to see beyond a point he makes (i.e. "we can figure out why same-sex marriage is illegal if we look at why our government got involved in marriage in the first place." That makes no sense to me).

There's my two cents. It's probably not helpful, but oh well.

The reason is that non-native speakers try hard to sound intelligible, and native speakers don't give a ****.
#901Almalieque, Posted: Aug 15 2010 at 3:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'll address this when I have more time because it appears that you took the time to write your post. I want to make sure that you completely understand my point from a serious point of view.
