No Ari. According to varus, there is an earning point where by earning more, you actually earn less.

There was one young woman I heard about who was diagnosed with cervical cancer while she was in jail. When she was released from jail, she was unable to find a job with health insurance because of her prior conviction, and no private health insurance company would ensure her because she had a pre-existing condition. Faced with certain painful death within a few years without a desperately needed surgery, she went and committed another crime in order to go back to jail, where she would be given the treatment she needed (at the cost of her freedom.)

Only in the US do we give our prisoners healthcare and tell the free citizens that they can just die.

OR

Universal healthcare might reduce crime rates!

Sometimes, I wish that I could really see what's going on in Varrox's head.

Yes there are different tax brackets in the US. If you actually paid taxes you might know this.

And every person I bring on takes more of my time, effort, and experience. Why would I want to have more employees so I can make more money that will eventually be taken from me? I can survive making 6 figures until i'm ready to sell the agency for a few million when i'm ready to retire. The only way i'll hire more people is if it's worth my time. Right now it's not. When W was lowering taxes it was. Funny how that works.

Actually, I just read a news report about a 71 year old man who held up a bank so he could go back to prison for treatment of his medical problems. Same deal, he couldn't survive on social security and disability and he said that his quality of life was bad so he wanted to go somewhere where he knew he would be taken care of.

I'd say you'd need a HazMat suit, but in reality I picture a gnarly little goblin bouncing up and down and muttering "Hee-hh!" to himself at intervals.

Thumb,

Yeah it sucks having to deal with the repercussions of bad decisions. You get insurance before you need it; not the other way around. People know this but don't realize the importance until it becomes a major issue.

You essentially believe that responsible citizens should be forced to take care of the irresponsible ones. I think this is a recipe for disaster.

We've been over this before ********** I'm an owner of a company that employs over 1,500 people. I pay taxes and I understand the extra work involved in bringing on more revenues and therefore, more staff. I'm not a drain on society though, so you know, I bring in more revenues. Because that line you and gbaji try to spew about all companies reinvesting their profits back into their businesses? Yea, for some of us it's true. You're a squatter though.

Ash,

Actually what you're studying is the joke, and waste of money. Insurance actually serves a purpose and helps people.

How predictable that not one of you liberals has the courage to defend a fellow congressman who's simply stating what you believe.

Ash,

Yeah our Govn wastes money on a lot of sh*t. What's your point?

When I want to go on vacation I'll pay for it myself, and it'll most likely be a caribean cruise. Other than that I live in east TN. Arguably one of the most beautiful places in the world come fall.

I always think that there's a bridge in his brain with a troll underneath it, demanding toll from any coherent thoughts that want to cross that bridge. No coherence want to pay the toll, therefore this is what we get in =4.

Whether or not you want to believe that I'm an owner of a company employing 1500 people or not is irelevant. The fact remains that you're disproving your argument that owners reinvest their income back into growing their businesses.

Mine won't be a vacation as such: my future job will just naturally take me to beautiful places. Until I can pay for it myself, though, grant money foots the bill.

Oh, what are you getting for lunch? I'm trying to figure out if my hard-boiled egg with chicken noodle soup is going to be satisfying or not today.

The professor I do research for took all her researchers to dinner at an authentic Mexican restaurant using some of her excess grant money. Varus would have hated it. There was wasteful government spending AND real-life Mexicans.
