So, we haven't had a thread of losing weight lately. I realized that I have to just maintain my healthy routines. I hate it when I fall off the wagon and eat an entire cheesecake.

I dropped a good amount of weight and was back down to a size 4 and in the stress of my office relocation and with other things, I gained weight again. Ad right when I started enjoying my wardrobe again.

I really want to eat a crunchy spicy scallop roll with tuna on top and that spicy mayo.

Yum. Just cut the mayo back a bit.

She hasn't been around lately.

We think Smash tossed her down a dry well and occasionally yells down, "It puts the lotion on its skin!"

Does your excess weight need financial aid for college or something?

In regards the weight loss thread from, like, January?..November?...? 2008?

I did achieve my target weight of 176lbs. Been there for 3 months. (I'm 6'2")

Only one high-carb item per meal. I eat a little over once a day on average and drink tons of water.

Diet is strongly weighted to protiens, fruits and vegetables.

Pastries are a total no-no and I eat very little bread, and when I do it is the super-duper multi-grain stuff.

So, like, 10 (?) months to lose 30 lbs with no added exercize.

I tend to watch my portions and do physical activity whenever I can fit it in. But dammit, when I stress-eat, that's when I throw in the towel.

I'm dying for warm Hawaiian bread with a slather of butter.

At 6'7" I was up to 260lbs, but that was when I had a very physical job and had quit smoking.

I'm now pretty steady, varying between 185 and 195. I don't have any specific 'rules' about what I eat, but most meals are freshly prepared and balance vegetables, white & red meat & fish. My worst calorific intake is beer & wine, but I walk a lot.

I occasionally eat junk food, and sometimes fry food, but mostly it's fresh and steamed, broiled or roasted.

A neat coincidence to see this thread, as I just signed up today on the website called "DailyBurn." From our last bout of weight-loss/exercise conversations, I strongly believe that diet is at least 75% of weight loss. Since my high (well, low, weight-wise) point of last November when I hit 163 lbs, I have blossomed up to around 185 again. I'm not where I was in college (200), but I'm uncomfortably close. Also a lot of my muscle that I had gained has deteriorated.

So I've made a few changes, and hopefully good ones. I'm quitting drinking alcohol (let's see how long that lasts, ha!), writing down the calories of everything I eat, and attempting to get more balance in my foods. I feel like carrot sticks are going to become my go-to snack. Unfortunately balancing my ratios has been tough today... sitting at 52% carbs, 27% fat, and 21% protein. I love me some carbs, obviously... I also need to figure out how to get more protein. I had some eggs for dinner, but they're pretty high in fat too. I have some tuna, but I've never really liked the stuff, so I'm still mulling over making it.

All of these efforts are going to be thrown into whack for the next couple of weeks anyway because I'm moving into a new apartment next week. So most of my stuff is packed up right now anyway! But it feels like I'm off to a good start so far :-) Hoping to hit 175 by the beginning of October. Will have to throw in some exercise to make that happen, but here's for hoping!

5'10", 125lbs, eat as much of whatever I want, minimal exercise.

Although, with a rambunctious two year old I do quite a bit of running around and moderate lifting. So if I tone up a bit I may break 130. One-forty would be a good target weight for me, but that would require eight hours of weightlifting, a sack of potatoes and a side of beef a day.

I'm not in a well and Smash hates lotion so that theory doesn't fly. I've just been crazy busy at the "new" job and now that Smash and I live together we, well I anyway, don't get online that much from home.

I'm still around the same weight and "kinda" paying attention to it. I'm hovering around 135, fluctuating 2-3 pounds in either direction from one week to the next and while I'd like to be about 128, I'm not being too hard on myself about it. I'm between a 4-6 depending on the day, haha.

Just remember to measure your portions Thumb...if you have leftovers from a meal, freeze them/put them away immediately after dinner so you're not tempted to have a little more later on. Also, brush your teeth immediately after dinner so you're more likely to drink just water and not eat more before bed.

If you're craving something specific (like your spicy scallop roll), don't just skip it...try to satisfy the craving with minimal damage. Ask for 2 pieces from the a la carte menu rather than a whole roll, and get a cucumber roll or something with it. It might be a tiny more expensive, but not much, and way nicer to your waistline. Bonus if you get it with brown rice rather than white and ask them to go light on the mayo. An occasional small indulgence helps one avoid the eating of entire cheesecakes.

In times of stress, go for a walk or meditate rather than eat if you can.

You're lovely and I'm sure you're going to be back where you want to be in no time.

Nexa

I've been heading to the gym again, and I've started dieting as well. My situation isn't quite the same as "trying to lose a few pounds," however.

Anyway this week I've stepped up my workout a bit and have cut back on what I eat. I dunno how I can just forget that I don't need to eat a full plate of food. I guess I just allow myself to get used to it.

I've been keeping tabs of my progress in my journal, too, so that helps keep me motivated.

Yeah. I blame my husband for my son being overweight for the same reason. (I never clean my own plate, so could never really harp on the kids to do the same). Still, you should clean your plate. You just need to fill it with smaller portions to start.

Smaller portions.

Smaller portions.

The way I eat up all of Thom's leftovers, you'd think I was gaining ten pounds at a time. But no!
