So the US Gub'mint is asking a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) to attend an inquiry into conspiracy theories that the release of the (almost certainly innocent) Mr Al-Megrahi was a result of a BP oil deal with Libya.


Now when I last looked, Scottish MSPs are elected by Scottish voters, not US Citizens.

Obama is clutching at straws in implying that the Gulf Leak is a British problem, (despite the root cause being Cheney's Halliburton cowboys), when BP is a global, multinational conglomerate formed from a merger between British Petroleum & AMOCO.

So if USA can subpoena MSPs about Libya and BP, can UK subpoena Dubya and Rumsfeld about the illegal detention of UK Citizens at Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay?

Anyone can ask for a subpoena. Enforcing it is something else again.

You know, ordinarily I'm pretty sympathetic to the position that the U.S. shouldn't interfere with sovereign governments, etc. etc.
