Huh, that sounds suspiciously like the spirit of bio-terrorism. Has anyone seen the two of them in a room together?

In general, you mean? God I wish it was a joke.

Best random explanation I heard for why fundies are anti-global warming: God made the Earth perfect 6,000 years ago, and admitting global warming exists is like admitting God screwed up somehow. The Young Earth is static and unchanging since God made it perfect the first go round. And humans can't mess up that perfection, therefore, global warming wasn't caused by people - if it exists it was caused by God. Not that it exists, mind you. It's all a hoax. Etc. Etc.

Come to think of it, that was on the Teabagger Jesus website, I believe.

Quad,

Actually man-made global warming propaganda is all to real. It's simply a mechanism socialists are using to control the idiots, or sheeple if you prefer. While liberals like to go on about how Christians preach believe our way or you're going to h*ll the socialists like to preach believe our way or you're going to destroy the world. Both are battles being waged for the soul of a nation.

There is absolutely no evidence that humans can affect global climate change. None. The top NASA guy for most of the last 20yrs has verified the data to support this doesn't exist. I asked Joph and Co. to provide someone with half the credentials of Dr. Theon. Dr. Hansen is the closest they could possibly come and this guy has received hundreds of thousands in grant money directly from the Democrat party.

It really is sad so many drank the kool-aid. I guess we can blame it on liberalism; but the truth is these are the people who refuse to open their mind to anything their politics doesn't agree with. You know the self-loathing, baby-killing, wealth re-distribution types.

For those of you in the business world compare the clients that are conservative to those that are liberal. Liberals are generally the most unhappy people I deal with. It's always someone elses fault.

Of course, the "controls" that environmentalists seek to put in place affect large corporations far more than any individual.

So environmentalists seek to control the pollution output of a large, uncaring, nebulous company, and somehow this is an evil agenda bent on world domination.

Ash,

Two words: carbon credits.

and yes the environmentalist are bent on world domination and they're well on their way.

I never mentioned Hansen. I asked you how it would change your opinion if I give you someone with "half the credentials of Dr. Theon". You never answered so I didn't bother.

Is there any other kind of propaganda? Penguin-made global warming propaganda? Bacteria-made global warming propaganda?

You don't need to answer that, it was a rhetorical question.

So basically, environmental legislation affects large groups of people far more than any one individual? While not technically incorrect, I fail to see the great insight.

We know you will refuse to acknowledge anything that may contradict your Republican talking points, so it's rather pointless to bother.

You keep saying "there is absolutely no evidence!" which is ridiculous. There is *plenty* of evidence. The veracity may be in question, but your argument is "some ex-NASA bureaucrat says it ain't so!" which, by itself isn't really worth anything.

Jophed,

I guess we're at an impass. You refuse to provide anyone half as qualified as Dr. Theon and I refuse to tell you why it's important that you do so.

That's not what he's asking though. He's asking if it will change your opinion at all.

Xarus,

How can I say whether or not something will change my opinion when I don't know what that something is? I would think you liberals would want to prop up elite scientist that support what you believe.

He's asking how it changes your opinion if he finds someone with half the credentials as your NASA guy.

No, you had it right with this. And since we already know what the outcome is, there's really no point in pursuing it.

That question is already answered though, Varus will never admit that someone fills his requirements because it doesn't count or because it's all a liberal conspiracy.
Thus, the how question is much more interesting. If Jophiel (or anyone else) find someone who matches all of Varus' requirements and states the exact opposite of his NASA guy, how will it change his opinion?
Talking pure theory here Varus, I don't expect you to ever actually consider anything anyone else says.

Edit: I'm on a roll, forgot to type the second half of what I wanted to say.

You know exactly what it is. A scientist with the credentials you requested. You refuse to answer because you know you'll sound stupid(er) for saying "No, I challenged you on something that makes no difference" but you can't say yes because you know it'll be easy enough to find such a figure.

I doubt anyone here, even on the skeptical side of the aisle, doubts that there are extremely well qualified people who advance the idea of ACC. There's no worry that if I don't answer your question people will say "OMG! Jophiel didn't answer! Obviously only scientific neophytes agree with ACC!". So, with that luxury on my side I'll wait for you to man up and tell me what I'm getting from your little dare.

IF...pretty big if. They can't find anyone comparable to Dr. Theon because he's the top guy. That's why all of you are engaged in coming up with all these reasons why you won't give me a source.

You better believe if Joph actually knew the name of a more qualified scientist he would have thrown his name out there the second I asked.
