I started watching for a moment but saw that he was going to blame the media for people being more interested in LeBron James than state budgets or the US/Mexican border. What a load of crap. It's insanely easy to find a wealth of news about state budgets, the government, taxes, the upcoming elections and a thousand other "important" topics that 95% of the nation thinks are complete snoozers. People don't follow those stories, not because information in unavailable, but because people don't care.

In this age, the only excuse for not being informed is apathy. That's not to make a judgment call on apathy (we can't all care equally about everything) but if you don't know about some aspect of modern issues, it's because you didn't look, not because the nightly news ran a story they knew people actually wanted to watch.

Edit: Watching further, it just gets stupider.

Do I get a medal for being more apathetic than the average person, and not caring about the LeBron whatever-it-is, along with the rest of the woes in the world?

Cause I really don't care about most things.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to fade into the backdrop if everyone can find you by smell.
