So, the Justice Department will review the Oakland Shooting case to determine if Federal prosecution is warranted after the former transit cop was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

To me this makes perfect sense, as they have to now find something to do to fill their days since they won't prosecute New Black Panther Party members for voter intimidation.

Of course, that's the Justice Department. It doesn't reflect on the President at all. He would have to have appointed the people in charge over there, or something.

- A former DoJ employee accuses his former colleagues of not wanting to protect the rights of white people.

- A white transit cop shots instead of stuns a black perp. The manslaughter conviction of the cop is being reviewed by DoJ.

- Our president is black.

Where are the muzzies in all this!?

They're prosecuting the guy who was actually doing any intimidating.

Are you upset that they're investigating a guy who killed someone or something? I'm not seeing what your point is.

They're not pursuing the organization, or the leaders there of, that sent the militants to the polls. I'm not upset over the review of the case in which a transit cop was convicted of killing an unarmed man I just find the pattern of behavior amusing.

And you're assuming this must have racist origins (as opposed to not finding enough evidence to prosecute or something) or you're just trying to get a rise out of someone?

The transit cop thing boils down to this: Did the cop really reach for his tazer (and miss & pull his gun) or his gun?
I don't know, but coincidentally two years in a row I'm flying into Oakland a couple days after rioting because of it.

Are you saying that one thing has anything to do with the other?

Are we talking about the Oakland shooting or the Black Panther thing? One or the other, there's no point in bouncing back and forth.

I'm not assuming anything. I'm pointing out a pattern of behavior that is suggestive at best, indicative at worst.

Are you asking me to prove a negative? 'Cause that's dumb.

If the DoJ only investigated two cases at a time I guess this might be meaningful.

They're also failing to prosecute any white supremacists who might have suggested that BART cops take every opportunity to shoot unarmed black men in the back.

Because, you know, people who suggest stuff are totally convictable.

They use it against white organized crime syndicates. Inciting a riot is illegal.

True, but in order to find enough evidence against the highest possible perpetrator, those investigations typically take years.

We don't know, and won't know for years if ever, whether the Black Panthers are being investigated for voter intimidation. If they were behind it, I hope that investigation is going forward and that they take all the time they need to make an airtight case.
