I would not even have imagined doing what that kid did. My Father and Mother would have taken me and the pot to the police and turned me in without any issues.

I'd probably deliver a severe beating with a bag of oranges for pushing me over a chair, then I'd call the cops.

No, but I wouldn't have confronted the kid about something as insigificant as pot. I would probably buy some off him, then give him tips on how not to get caught. Seriously, it's just pot, and I sold pot when I was in high school too.

To say nothing of how it might harm the oranges.

Honestly, by the time I have adolescent kids, I plan on having a fully operational medical marijuana grow farm operation, so if they are found without baggies of bud around them I'd be even more suspect.

But really, it would take a lot for me to call the cops on my kid, and a QP baggied into dimes is hardly a huge sin in my eyes. The assault and running away would be the fear factor, and like I said, if they didn't return within 24 hours I'd then get the police involved, just because that would be the point where he safety really is in jeopardy. Unless he's getting his stuff from some nasty black crack dealer on the street corner in the ghetto, which I'm sure he's probably not. With my experience, aside from young boys, older, middle-aged women are the most common dealers I've come across. He probably has a buddy at school whose mom hooks him up, or something along those lines. Dealing pot on a small scale in safe area to people you know isn't really as dangerous as most people who've never bought or done drugs can really understand. It's not likely a 16 year old is gonna be in a position where he owes a whole bunch of money to some gun-wielding gangsters. The biggest problem here, obviously, is the broken laws and getting the cops involved, but if it came down to it, for a hormonal, stoned 16 year old boy it might be necessary.

Hmm, a new retirement strategy presents itself.

That said, our local newpaper today had a front page picture of a young woman who was arrested for being chained to a backhoe that was sitting at the site of a new windfarm they are about to break ground on. Getting arrested for a cause doesn't seem so bad (though in this case it seems stoopid).

Ok. This actually has me curious. Why did she chain herself to the backhoe? Does she have some kind of strong opposition to using wind as an alternative energy? I'm assuming she's a big mean advocate for big oil or something, right? Or just horribly misguided...?

Damn you Marie Louise Parker! How many middle aged women will you lure down the dark path of suburban pot dealing moms?!

Oh no, no. Alternative energies themselves are horribly misguided and merely a ploy to control the minds of Americans. There is absolutely no reason to use solar or wind for energy as long as there is still coal and uranium to be found.

Maybe it's at one of those sites were people are ******** about how they want wind energy, they just don't want it here. This woman is taking NIMBY to an extreme.

I would have questioned him thoroughly. Once I determined how long he'd been doing this and how much money he had made, I would have demanded my cut (hey, its my house) then kicked him the hell out. Regardless of one's personal views on the legalization of marijuana, dealing it out of MY house puts me and my assets at risk. That, I will not tolerate.

Oh, like the people up here, who don't want them to put wind farms on the mountains, and instead want to use the forests around town to generate power...they cite ******** reasons such as: "The shadows from the turbines can cause medical issues", "it will look ugly", "it will be distracting while I ski",and the always awesome, "Wind power is a hoax".

I'd call the cops after the little **** assaulted me. Afterwards, I would confiscate all of it and secretly extract all of the THC. I'm not smoking it because a 16-year-old is probably not going to get very good weed.

This is probably why the mom in the story claimed Dad was "betraying the family" - she's probably her son's source for weed. :-D

Pot, by itself, is pretty insignificant. DEALING pot is a whole other ballgame. Also, if my kid pushes me over a chair, then there is much more to worry about than just "a little pot".

That, and I would've beat the **** out of that ungrateful sunuva *****. Smiley: mad

If my kid's ever caught with drugs, I've failed as a parent. The whole "Most kids sell/do crack in high school" I don't understand as I just graduated from HS and always did my best to avoid people who have it. It would depend on my kid really, if he pushed me down and ran away I would probably call the cops.
