For all you on FB peeps, especially you parental units, I'm going to do a shameless plug here and ask for your help. I'm part of a site here in NC that is a nonprofit organization that helps to support moms in the area (trianglemommies.com). Our parent site,The Mommies Network, which has over 100 local sites nationwide and is still growing, has been nominated for Chase Banks Community giving, where you vote for your favorite nonprofit organizations and charities to win money to help their sites. If they win money, it helps our site tremendously. Right now we're at the top ten spot, but if we can push it up a little higher we could be granted a lot of money to help both the current sites, and hopefully have money to open up some new ones in areas where this would be really needed. And trust me, a happy supported mom is one more mom who wont go psycho. Its a win/win for us all Smiley: grin

So if you got a moment, would you mind voting for them? You'd rock my world if you did Smiley: wink

So trianglemommies.com isn't a site for mothers who lost their children to the Bermuda Triangle?

I voted for the childhood cancer foundation instead, because it seemed like a more worthwhile cause.

Actually it turns out I can't vote at all, as http://ccg.contextoptional.com/ won't load, but yeah, I guess that post was a little ahead of itself.

Is all you'll be doing with the money is putting it into more and fancier websites for moms to chat on?

Will any of the money go to ...you know, a cause?

Everything on Facebook is either a whiny rant or shameless "look how wonderful my life is" plug.

We do multiple charity drives a year, both for local and national drives. The money goes to those, helping moms in each area who need support or help. We have on our site alone roughly 100 events a month that no members pays for. I pay out of pocket myself quite a bit in my own role of our local site, as do other volunteers both on my local site and around the nation. This money will give our site a little more funding to be able to do more without having to pay on our own or to be able to be reimbursed for our efforts. It will also help increase server sizes so we can open up more sites in areas that do not have this support network.

That help?
