I wasn't going to respond, but I guess you deserve a response more so than some of these other people....

I don't think it is impossible, but during the time you wanting a person to be tortured, you want them to be alive to feel the pain, other wise you would just shoot them in the head. You can not want them to feel pain and be dead at the same time. It's either one or the other.

But that's not accurate. I can want to eat my cake and want to save it for a another day at the same time - I can only do one of them, so I act on the strongest desire, but they both co-exist. Other problems with this argument include the ability to anticipate a future emotional state, the oversimplification of motives (you want to go through a process, in this case torturing someone to death, rather than wanting their pain and death separately and at different times) and Sturgeon's law.

You don't want to torture them indefinitely, either. I mean, surely you have better things to do with your time at some point. So when they die it's sort of a "oh good, I can get on with things" scenario.

You can analogize this to your own situation however you like.

That is true. The way I see it, there are transition points from wanting the person to feel pain, to not caring if that person dies to wanting the person to die.

Well, I guess it's just a difference in opinion. In the particular example I'm referring to, you can not claim that you wanted me to respond emotionally and be muted at the same time. Whatever action you support is what you wanted to happen. You may had feelings that supported wanting me to be mute, but there were no actions in support of that before, during or even after I was muted.

So I will conclude in saying that I will not speak in a general sense, but for my particular situation, muting me was not the objective.

I wish you were still muted.

I went to China for three weeks, and I didn't get ripped off, robbed, thrown acid on, or turned into sweet-and-sour noodle soup. Every single person I communicated with was friendly and curious. I got lots of free tea, too.

So yeah, I agree with BT.

To be honest, I read your posts like I read gbaji's: wondering how many lines it will take for the crazy to appear. It's usually 1 or 2. I don't really bother with the rest.

It never ceases to amaze me how people will debate me without even reading my posts and yet proclaim that I'm the idiot, when they have no idea what they are even arguing against.

Look on the bright side, at least now you know that you are supporting my claim.

If you go all defensive and insist you're not being trolled and are not a victim, it doesn't really matter at that point if you are or if you're not, as you're giving the exact reaction people want. OOT doesn't care about how you really feel, they just want some kind of reaction, and you provided them with that.

Except you're missing the point, it's mostly likewise with me...... but if you all settle with pseudo conclusions, so be it. That's where we differ, I like to live in reality, but I'm not going to burst your delusional bubble if that helps you sleep at night...

Just don't say I never done anything for you....

You just keep missing the point. The reasons behind your reactions don't matter so long as it is the reaction that those trolling you are looking for.

All I did was restate what Xsarus said. Are you saying you said the same thing Xsarus said? Why'd you accuse him of missing the point if he stated the same point you did?

You did miss the point didn't you, you little rascal?!

I blame the lack of proper trolling. I'm only responding..

With given time, this will surely end up about either religion, sexuality and/or abortion. Hopefully something more exciting that hasn't been beaten to the ground a million times will come up. I have a good topic, which I haven't seen on this forum, but I'm going to save it when I have more free time.....

I'm pretty sure Ugly just restated my point. I thought I'd give it one last try, and I have to say, I'm kind of disappointing that you didn't get it. Smiley: frown not surprised mind you.

Ugly did restate your post, which is why you or Ugly still don't get it... :(

I'll try to explain this using as few as words as possible, since I know you all stop reading after 1 sentence or 2.

1. I've been stating all along that I know the rules of the game and have been playing along for my own personal enjoyment.

2. I pointed out that while the outcome of me being mute might have been desired, it was not the intent, so don't pretend like it was.

3. You responded to say, my true feelings don't matter as long as I respond the way the board wants me to.

4. I responded with that it is LIKE WISE WITH ME , hence me saying I know the rules of the game and play along. I also do not care if you are trolling or not, as long as I get the response that I'm looking for. Just like in this response, rather or not you're trolling doesn't matter to me as long I like your response.

5. Although, that is true, I said I still like to live in reality, meaning, I'm not going to project stupidity on a person or fictional scenarios just for me to laugh. I try to differentiate the troll from the idiot. That was the second part of my phrase where I said This is where we differ

6. Ugly responds with, you just don't get it, your true feelings doesn't matter as long as I respond a certain way. That was exactly what I just said, so obviously Ugly didn't get it.

7. Not only did Ugly obviously didn't get it, you didn't get it for saying it the first time, when I've been stating this entire time that I'm just as much "trolling" you as you are me, so I understand the concept of just reacting to reactions regardless of their true intents. My focus was on where we differ, not where we are similar.

If you still don't understand, I can quote myself and use arrows to place the concept next to my words....

Hell, I write my posts, and I don't have a clue what is going on here. Are people actually arguing about whether or not someone was trolled? Is that even possible? I'm thinking that trolling is kinda like a good joke in that if you have to tell someone you did it, it wasn't trolling, and insisting that you weren't trolled after the fact is kinda pointless.

50 posts of "You were trolled!", "No I wasn't!" is making my eyes bleed...
