Why would a sunroof leak any more or less than a regular window? Does glass warp?

I would assume they are more inclined to leak since water can sit on them longer since they are a horizontal surface opposed to vertical ones of normal windows. Still, gbaji's <5yr mark for leaking sunroofs is obviously wrong.

This thread just further reinforces my notion that Saturns are in fact actually decent cars.

Or, were. They're not in production anymore are they?

No :(

It's ok, though, I plan on keeping the saturn I have for a good while, probably another 5 years at least. :D

Must just be for us Saturn owners, because according to gbaji, EVERYONE he knows with a sunroof has it leak, so therefore ALL sunroofs EVERYWHERE ALWAYS leak, or something like that.
I guess there has to be one good thing about Saturn.

It's possible that Saturns are the exception, But then everyone I've known who drives Saturn manages to crash it. It's like those things attract bizarre accidents. Not sure if that's a design flaw related to selling it's soul for non-leaky sunroofs, or what... ;)

Gbaji,

My 05 altima ser's sunroof is doing just fine, knock on wood. Of course i'll probably trade it in for something newer in the next year and a half.

I bet it's the CD changer that's keeping your sunroof from leaking.

You drive a Saturn. There isn't a car produced that is too fruity for you.

I had a '97 Saturn coup that I loved so much. Had an SUV run a stop sign and smash into me, and it got totaled in '03. I got a '03 Saturn ION. First year they were in production.

I never had so many freaking problems with a car as I did on that stupid ION. First year I had it, the car would try to accelorate when I was braking. It took three visits to the Saturn dealership (and one apology from a mechanic who checked to "see if I was driving with both feet," asked me if it happened "when my husband drove it," and said that the paperwork said "tries to go forward when foot is on the accelorator" all during one test drive) before they finally found out there was a faulty wire that had to be replaced. After that, the ION would rev up, then slam into gear if I tried to speed up too fast, and I had a guy tell me that my car had ADD (my words, not his). Then the back window stopped rolling down. Half of the dash board wouldn't light up anymore. And finally, in the end, it wouldn't start half the time because it was getting senile and thought I was trying to steal it.

Finally traded it in this year for a Honda. I was so soured on Saturns after that, even though my dad, step-mom, ex-step-dad, and current step-dad all used to work for them.

Bel,

My Saturn Experience(tm) seems quite similar to yours. Sure the sunroof never leaked, but neither of my back windows work, the rear power locks don't work, the interior lights don't turn on when any doors are open, I have the same problem with the dash lights, and in order for the engine fan to turn on i have to connect two wires via a wirenut under the hood so it doesn't overheat in the summer. I'm looking for a new car now, but it seems that all the minor stuff in the car breaks and while the car still runs fine, its a PITA.

Edit: And on this note I would not recommend anyone get a Saturn.

Huh. I've never had any problems like the ones y'all are describing. But the ones I've had and driven are all manual accessories, so maybe they're bad at wiring.
