Outside the city limits is sometimes referred to as living in the country, especially if the area is unincorporated. You're saying the same thing.

That's what she said originally. Varus seems to think it was a typo.

Country. As opposed to city. You know, like farmland, as opposed to urban area. One of which allows livestock, one of which doesn't. Both of which may exist in the same county.

Living "in county" is not any phrase I've ever heard of.

Most likely because you've never lived below the Mason/Dixon. When I was a kid I knew several people who lived in the county as opposed to the city. There is a metric *** ton of unincorporated land in the South, even around the bigger cities, that a lot of places in the North just don't see.

Hmm. I was just thinking that the nearest he'll get to a vag is to grow one between his corn and okrah.

Ain't much girl-gash going on those Men Seeking Men sites, I hear.

And if you're lucky like me you get to pay city and county taxes.

I've heard it used by people that are/were incarcerated.

Ahh, yes, there is it. "County" is "county jail".

Thank you for proving me wrong, John. I have lived in county before.

I've heard of county roads, county cops, etc.., all of which reaffirm said use of the word county, but I've never actually heard someone say "I live out in the county" or anything of the sort, and I grew up in a Texas small town.
