I'm always listening to music when I'm at home. It's annoying to have prolonged silence on Skype, so there's one reason I guess.

The only time I'm listening to music, and doing nothing else, is when I'm traveling somewhere. So basically sitting in a vehicle with nothing close at hand to distract me.

When I was young I listened to music all the time. I would just sit in my room for hours listening to albums, 45s and sometimes the radio. At night I would play records and listen to them in bed with the headphones on until my dad would make me stop (the man had Superman hearing, he could hear the tinny sounds coming off the record, FFS).

Once I was able to drive, that's where I listened to most of my music. Driving around for hours with 8,000 tapes in the car, switching them out. For a girl, I had a kick-*** system in my car. I liked it LOUD.

Now I don't listen just for the sake of listening like I used to. Maybe every 2-3 months I'll open up iTunes and just listen to a few songs.

I live for music, I listen to it constantly and could talk about it for hours without being bored.

I'm 35 this year and i'm as enthusistic about new rock/metal bands now as i was when i was first introduced to Def Leppard and Iron Maiden at 14. In fact i'll be watching iron Maiden for the first time this year at the Knebworth festival.

My current Album of choice is the self titled Them Crooked Vultures.

For those unaware it's a trio consisting of Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) John Paul Jones (Led Zhepplin) and Josh Homme (Queens of the stone age.) and is somewhat reminicant of the 70's David Bowie stuff. Very good IMO.

I pretty much listen to music first, and then do other stuff. The only time I don't listen to music is when something else requires sound, like the television. It's just that my Ipod's been pretty darn dead for a good while now.

As for music of choice... I grew up listening to R.E.M., The Cranberries and the Dire Straits, but I can't say I really had much of a taste until I was about 14. I listen to just about anything as long as I can consider it music (It usually requires either a catchy beat, decent or good vocals and it not being hardcore/scandinavian nü metal)

(Dark side of the moon, brilliant idea!)
