Obama nominates another uber ****Follow

Quote:
As solicitor general, Kagan serves as the nation’s top lawyer arguing cases before the high court. Yet Kagan is highly unusual in one way – she has never been a judge. It’s the first time in nearly four decades that someone would join the court, if confirmed, without any prior judicial experience. The last to do so was William Rehnquist, who went on to become chief justice.

Another? Which of the married women who have served as SCOTUS justices do you consider to be the previous?

I'm upset that Kagan is Jewish, thus slowing down the Catholic domination of the Supreme Court.

Debo,

Tolerance? So now calling a spade a spade is considered intolerant? How about this dykes pure hatred and intolerance for the military? Anything to say about that?

Barring a Meiers-esque implosion within her own party, she'll almost certainly be confirmed and be a SCOTUS justice for decades to come. And you'll just have to sit and cry about it.

That's what I have to say about that.

Jophed,

That's all you have to say about anything. How is this new?

Why defend a radical nomination when you don't have to?

In fairness, the title is "Obama nominates another uber ****" not "Obama nominates another uber **** to the Supremes"

She's farther to the right than I would want, politically at least. She seems to think that expanding the power of the Executive Branch is just peachy, and that battlefield detention can be extended indefinitely (helloooo, Guantanamo).

So if neither the far left nor the far right is thrilled about her, she's probably a decent choice as long as her experience bears up. She has no judicial experience, which is not unprecedented as noted in the linked article. She has argued cases before the Court, and she knows her way around the law.

I think she'll be confirmed.

I doubt your use of the term **********" was meant to be endearing. Just another expression of your rampant homophobia and bigotry.

I figured those would be plusses in varus's book.

I don't know anything about her. But it'd be awesome to have a lesbian on the Supreme Court.

Debo,

What would be a plus in my book is if Obama actually nominated a constitutionalist who will base their decisions on precedence rather than fairness.
