Why don't you like abortion, Bijou?
Because I can't have one, and if I can't have one nobody ELSE should have one either.
But, seriously:
The factors leading to this are many; included are my spritual beliefs and my own parenthood. I do not, however, believe that one's faith should dictate law. I would, for instance, do my best to talk a friend out of an abortion but would never condemn her in any way if she had one.
The systems in place concerning adoptions, foster care etc are too much of a ********** to preclude forcing pregnant women to carry to term anyway. If ever there was a system in place to properly - not adequately - PROPERLY care for unwanted kids I might change my mind, but I doubt it.
In have dicussed the point with anti-abortionists. I like to ask them that if abortion were to be illegal - with the caveat that all anti-abortionists carry a numbered card like a draft card and get the unwanted babies in a lottery - would they still support it? The answer is always no. Virulent anti-abortion advocates have shown time and again that they are interested in control, not children.
