I do, not the oppressed part but definitly discharged. Most american men do not want to be in close quarters with homosexuals. Call it what you will, it's a fact of life. That the the radical left, a class that rarely serves in the military, want to push their own radical agenda in this way means less than nothing to me.

You must be thinking the military is Infantry. You're forgetting us medics. And intelligence. And cooks, supply, transport, translators, laundry and the list could go on (But I'm missing my Smart Book. And so help me God if my old drill instructor found out...) of people in the military that lack this overblown testosterone that makes for a lame excuse and make up the true majority in the military. You wanna play democracy?

Also: Try including women, you anachronistic ****.

If our presence is a distraction to other men... I've got some questions I'm not legally allowed to ask.

I think you're confusing military with military support personnel. I'm not against women serving in the military, just not on the front lines. I also think the don't ask don't tell policy was the best way to go, unless of course you're playing politics.

Someone should tell the generals they're not in the military.

Moebius,

Perhaps we should actually listen to the generals on this, and most of the military. No matter how you spin it homosexuality is not conducive to the military environment.

How could you possibly know this?

Homophobia is? You would think accepting all enlisted personnel would be more helpful. No matter how you spin it, gays are already in the armed forces and you gain nothing by discharging them if they're "outed."

There seems to me to be an obvious connection between homophobia and testosterone, and the military is a breeding ground for it.

At any rate, so long as there are people (for better or worse) whose performance on the battlefield would be significantly degraded by the knowledge that one or more of the men in their unit is homosexual, I think it's in the best interest of the armed forces, in general, to keep such information off the battlefield.

You may not like this but most good old boys, who make up a large part of the military really don't want to share a foxhole with a homosexual. That's why I was in favor of don't ask don't tell, something slick willy actually got right.

Hmmm, the good old boys are ok sharing a foxhole with a homosexual as long as they don't know their hole-mate is ****.

Seems to me that if one is afraid of catching the gayz, the more they know about their comrades (gay or not gay??) the better they'll be able to protect themselves.

It has been, though. Twice.

1) Integration

2) Women in the military

ALSO: Don't make assumptions about the rest of the countrys' attitudes on gays, you knuckle-draggin', cross-burnin', ****-hatin', cousin-pumpin', whiskey-swillin', slack-jawed dimwit.

I'm not sorry to say most of the military are anti-gay. Of course they can't come right out and say because they'll be crucified by the pc police, but they do feel that way. Just like most of them don't support the little monkey in chief but keep their mouths shut and keep on keeping on.

Yoda,

Aren't you one of the people who posted pictures of W looking like a monkey?

Can we get Obama banned for being a racist?

I believe that may be outside Kaolian's purview, considering he doesn't post here.

Not to defend Varus, but I have no problem with referring to him as the chimp in chief given his proclivity for throwing ****. That has nothing to do with his race.

Now, if Varus comes out and calls him the HNIC, that might be beyond the pale.

Yodabunny,

Remember when you said this?

Quote:
10 Billion? ZOMG The US has been killing aliens from outer space!!!

Oh, and you don't have to dismantle a f*cking country to kill Sadam. There was no justification for the methods used.

And yes, I hate Bush, and I'm not American, that should tell you something about how Bush is viewed by the world.

At least I didn't say I hate anyone. And what do you have against monkeys? Weren't we all monkeys a very long time ago?

He also "called a spade a spade" in the Kagan thread.

But he's all about tolerance, amirite?

There you go. I guess I shouldn't make fun of the way our Commander in Chief looks.

What's wrong with calling a black man a monkey? It's not like he called him a lawn jockey or something.
